Awesome had no idea there was a Canada day or that it was so close to America's independence day.
Good ol' American schooling doesn't tell you that kind of stuff about other countries.
Good ol' internet
On a related note happy 4th of July! Still before 12PM July 5th in my time zone
Sweet pic SPPV.

What the FUC% they teach you down there LOL. Of course theirs a Canada Day, we're proud of independance, and patriots just like you guys. Pretty much every country does it. Up here USA history is part of public school since as you know our countries are like paternal twins, one went the jock route the other decided to be a hippy Kinda figured you guys woulda learned about Canadian history in school too

If you were to ask a typical American whether Canada (like any other country) has an independence day, they probably say yes.
If you were to ask a typical American what Canadians call their independence day, they probably wouldn't know theirs is called "Canada Day"
Down here we usually just call ours the "4th of July" or "4th" for short. If someone is trying to be formal, they would just call it "Independence Day." If you googled the more formal phase ours comes up first, at least with my regular IP address at home since google knows all ( ) and sees I am american.
Don't know what googling independence day in canada with google would do?
Do any Canadians call "Canada Day" "Independence Day"?
P.S. Yeah we went the jock route
We have hippies in the good ol' USA, it's just that the jocks have been successful preventing regular folk from listening to them. They're still mad about the hippies convincing Americans about how awful the Vietnam war was

We would get hits of USA celebrations googling Independance Day. Here we only have one name for our July 1st celebrations and thats Canada Day. Im just amazed you guys dont text book beaten in history class for at least a week in regards to Canada. Kinda figured 2-way street, we appreciate the symbiotic relationship and perpetuate it via public school brain-wash and you do the same. Its like a school yard relationship, big kid tries to steal our lunch money you punch him out, and we give you the answers to Tuesdays trig test LMAO

No I think the problem is that Americans are just implicitly taught not to care about other countries.
If you watch local city news programs in the US, which are (usually normally affiliates of the bigger channels like ABC, CBS, NBS or Fox) they barely talk about international news. I could get into why, but you probably have a good idea why.
If you were to ask a regular person from New York City about other states in the US, they wouldn't really know much, since they think New York is the center of the world. I'm not criticizing that type of view, just pointing it out.
