Guys, I badly need your help. I cant understand this at all. I recently got my xbit mod chip and I was able to figure out how to work it today. I was able to load up the EVO dashboard but there is a problem.... I cant connect to the xbox through my PC. I have two NIC cards and one is connected to the internet. The other one I have plugged to the xbox but it keeps saying "a network cable is unplugged" . I have switched wires to the xbox with both network cards and each time I plug in to the xbox I get the same ""a network cable is unplugged" message. I know also, on the xbox it tells me to check cables. When I plug in the modem directly to the xbox it reads that I have pluged in a cable. But when I connect it back to the PC, it says to check the cables. I have tried a bunch of cables and the same problem. What could the problem be? I really need your help on this one. I am running windows XP and I have also tried the network connection wixard without sucess. I have tried both regular and crossover cables.
Thanks for any help.

I kinda had the same problem as you but with a router, your card doesnt happen to have a uplink port, I just connect my CAT5 to the uplink port and im all set.

I recommend using a router..it just simplifies things so much. You can get wired routers so cheap now.
Once you have your cable modem going into the router, just take one cat5 line and go to your PC. Take the number two port and put a cat5 cable into it and take other end to your xbox.
You should have no problems connecting that way. It's worth 30.00 to do!!

To me it sounds like you may be using a patch cable instead of the required crossover cable. This would make it where you couldn't connect to the xbox from the computer because there really isn't a connection with the wrong type of cable. _________________
