Hey Guys. I am a newbie here... and also to the xbox moding scence. I am also not a technical type of person, so a lot of the things I have read I do not understand. I have gone over the tutorials and threads on this forum and still I dont know what I am doing wrong. So I really need your help and please be patient with me. Here is my situation.
Got the xbit in yesterday. Opened up xbox, removed HD and CD driver. Installed Xbit through the PogoPin setup. Connectedt the chip to the USB. Flashed the EVO bios to a 256 slot. and it was written correctly. But when I try to disconnect, the software freezed up. I let it sit for an hour and still it was frozen. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to verify before I disconnect?
A few more questions. What is this led lights flashing red and green I keep reading about? That is confusing. Is this led light on the chip?
On the bios switch, do I need to keep all the switches off to flash the chip?
And on the 1meg bios slot, does the bios have to be 1 meg? Or can it be 256?
I may have more questions later, I am just tired of trying to figure it out all day. I am glad I just found this page an hour ago.. hopefully you guys can help me out.

Okay. Reinstalled my windows.. I am running Windows ME and this time I was able to write, verify and Disconnect using an EVO bios. My question is in the 512k slots, what bios should I put in? I tried booting with the new bios but I didnt see anything happen. How do I tell if the bios worked or not? I read something about a screen change? Please let me know. I still need to know the answers to the questions I asked above. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I do not have any Xbit chip experience. If you are flashing to a 512k bank, then make sure you are using a 512k sized bios.
Also, what you may have to do is boot up a certain way. Like the X3 chip, once it's flashed, you have to hit the power button real quick. If you hold it too long, it boots up to the regular bios and the chip will be disabled. This is so you can game on xbox live without getting banned. So, there may be procedure you have to go through.
If you do not find any Xbit help here, or tutorials, I would suggest you go to your chip retailer's website and look for tutorials or install manuals.
The easiest way to search a site for information is through google.

I am able to flash now... But the problem remains figuring out if the bios or mod chip is working at all. I dont get any change in the loadup screen, it still reads XBOX, but I read its supposed to read Xecutor (since I am using the Xecutor Bios)... Could the problem be the D0 point misalignment? Should I keep moving around the mod chip until I get it right?
