SID5 PIMPED XBOXHDM INSTALLER
A new tool for all those without exploitable games is now here. SID5 Pimped will work with or without EEPROM. And unlike DPNdure all the work is done simply put your EEPROM in the EEPROM folder and run make-iso-win and burn to disc. Or if you dont have it just run make-iso-win. When its done just burn to DVD-r and enjoy.
Your Cdrive toast? Cant boot your XBOX, this will revive it while modding it at the same time.
Also an excellent alternative for those looking to do an HDD upgrade. Why build the HDD with XBOXHDM then mod it when you can mod it at the same time as building?
Want to upgrade from SID3 or Ndure but cant get the softmod removed or dont have the game needed to boot the softmod menu? No worries this will nuke the old softmod and install the new one without missing a beat.
When its all said and done you will have SID5 with Unleashx dash, around 75 skins, and XBMC, DVDx, DVD2XBOX, and Enigmah installed to E/apps. Along with FCEUltraX, Mednafenx PCE, NeoGenesis, PCSXBOX, Surreal64, XBOYAdvance and ZSNEXBOX installed to E/emulators. As well as F and G drive support.
Here it is in action on an 80GB HDD for a 1.6 XBOX. This has been tested on a 1.0 with stock 8GB and a purposefuly crippled Cdrive (I unplugged it halfway through it removing a softmod and restoring the MSdash). On a 1.1 with stock 8GB and Ndure installed, and on 2 1.6 XBOXs one with a 30GB the other an 80GB doing an HDD upgrade/mod. If you decide you want Evox instead or some more emus/apps its as easy as throwing in your AID disc, no time lost if you watch my SID5 Gamesave video you can see this mod only takes 2 minutes longer and has XBMC!!
Thanks goes to DJB in a big way, because of all the options built into his gamesave exploit I was able to make this. I hope to add more options to it eventualy, bear in mind this is just version 1 so to speak. Anyone who downloads this please report any bugs you may encounter. I tested it every way I could think of and it seems to work perfect
For best results use Fuji DVD-r, burn at 4x with Imgburn and use a PC with AMD cpu and IDE support, and only have one DVD drive hooked up. If your PC has 2 dvd/cd drives unplug the power and data cable from the slave drive
Update:
SID5 PimpedV7 will be released later today. This newest edition simply put makes the previous ones obsolete. You can now use it straight from your XBOX to upgrade your softmod from an earlier SID/Pimped or NDURE softmod, to switch out your dashboard, for a Virgin MS dash, to install Apps and Emulators (with ROMS), install the latest (Oct.18 T3CH) XBMC as app or dash. And of course it still works from your PC to fix all those realy nasty errors that just cant be fixed from the XBOX, HDD builds and HDD locking and unlocking. This edition is less than half the size of SID5 Pimped Final, and it includes around 1500 ROMs (Final came with none), and the install has been simplyfied. Now the default install is UnleashX & XBMC after you put the HDD back in your XBOX with just a couple of clicks switch your dash between UnleashX and XBMC. No longer do you need to use Xbrowser to install Apps and Emulators all are done in the default install. Evox & Ava must still be installed via Xbrowser or via disc on your XBOX. Im uploading a video now of it being used in an XBOX and one via PC will be up after.
Im also making the XBE to make Pimped readable by an XBOX available simply copy it to the root of any Pimped Linux folder and use CXBOX Tools to make the ISO. My Philips drive was able to read the disc no problem when I used make-iso.bat but Thomson and Samsung both refused which is why I say to use CXBOX since all 3 recognized it when I used it. Im uploading a video of it in action building a HDD on a PC and Im sure many of you will notice its much snappier than pervious editions and NO Boot Disc is required
Default Install
End Result
Update:
Well guys after a long dry spell SID5 Pimped is back with a vengeance. While it may still look somewhat the same I have gutted the program to make it faster, smoother and more user friendly. Boot times have been dropped to almost instantaneous (hot swappers be sure to edit the time out value or you'll be hitting that HDD with a hammer). Also through higher level compression and support for zipped files over 1.4GB of info will now fit on a 700MB CD. UnleashXv0.40 has now been added as the official default dash of Pimped and the newest stable T3CH XBMC has been added. Knoppix Failsafe coding has been included for problem PCs and the need for a boot disc has been removed. Manual detection override has also been added for the real problem BIOS. If you get the message no HDD found just boot the BIOS and turn off IDE Master Channel 1, (thats right shut er right down) and Pimped will take control of that channel so that the PC BIOS cant lay claim and freeze the security on the HDD. The UnleashX version will be released first but will be followed shortly by the XBMC(as dash) edition. Enjoy Hq-ers.
Update:
SID5 Pimped Failsafe V2 (Stripper) will be released, hopefully, later today. Ive removed the un-needed options and included an auto boot through to the SID5 Pimped Installer if no input is detected for 30 seconds. Also the menu has been redone to make it a little more noob friendly. Avalaunch and XBMC have been removed as dash, choice is now UnleashX or Evox. Ava and XBMC can be easily added with an update pack. The old XBMC app has been removed and replaced with the newest stable release of XBMC. I timed a full install with UnleashX, 9 apps including XBMC, and 17 Emus (no ROMS) at just over 13 minutes. Hope everybody likes it. The next edition will use my SPPV Super Noob exploit (NK Patcher exploit based) as opposed to SID5.
This edition is being released as an update pack. Simply copy the files from the Instal Disc folder to the Isolinux folder of the Install Disc of the Pimped edition to be upgraded, and do the same for the boot disc. By copying the included files you can turn any version of Pimped into Failsafe V2. To do a default install simply pick Boot SID5 Pimped in the menu, for a Failsafe Install (helpful with HDD or DVD detection issues) pick Boot SID5 Pimped in Failsafe Mode
SPPV Super Noob Gamesave install
SID5 Pimped v0.2 and SID5 Pimped Final/XBMC Update Pack are now available for download on the USA VIP FTP Server
Version 2 will be available shortly. Dualboot Softmodmenu-Hacked Dash HD. More apps, emus and skins have also been added.
SID5 Pimped Final
This is the most advanced edition of SID5 Pimped to date giving you almost total control, and a schwack more options. Unlike the previous versions this one can install ROMs along with the emulators and gives you the option of installing all or individualy to E or F drive. The same for apps. Three more dashboards have been added, UnleashX is still the default dashboard but you now have the option of choosing a different one. This edition also takes full advantage of the SID5 Rescue image, auto loading Unleashx if an improper dash install is done.
Full list of features

-Single or Dual Boot Install
-Install via xboxhd or xbrowser(Midnight Commander)
-Can install on a messed up HDD, Stock HDD, or Upgrade HDD
-Can remove a previous softmod

-Apps: Config Magic 1.6, Dvd2Xbox, DVDx, Linksboks, NTSC-PAL Region Switcher, XBFTP, XBMC, XBVDetector and XBWatch
Here it is with the XBMC update rebuilding a messed drive modding intalling xbmc as dash all emulators and almost 2gb of roms
SID5 Pimped Failsafe Edition has been released and will be available in the VIP Downloads section once an Admin gets around to adding it. This edition has all the features of Final (XBMC update pack will work with this release) plus more Emus. Also a Boot in Failsafe Mode option has been added to help with CD and HDD detection issues. I tested on my buddies old Celeron tower that never worked for building HDD and it worked fine in Failsafe Mode with over 2GB of ROMS added. If for whatever reason you stil get a no CD found in Failsafe Mode a Boot Disc has been included just add your EEPROM to it and use it to boot same as in SID5 Pimped Final. For install instruction simply follow the SID5 Pimped Final tut[/b

My goal is to make "custom" packages. You want dual boot softmod menu with evox and HD DL this one. The other route Im looking into is using hardcore compression and including multiple drive folders. One thing I have noticed and this bears mentioning and people keeping in mind the more you put on the disc the less likely your PC will boot it. In its current form is quite customizable, you want more emus just copy and paste the folders into the emulators folder, it should look the exact same way it does in filemanager. DO NOT add ROMS though , every one Ive tried that I added roms to the rom folder refused to boot. I would just get Nvidia bootmanager telling me to put in my disc. I believe its due to the high level of data it needs to scan through to find the isolinux and boot. Mind you I added over 2GB of ROMs.
Nice thing is XBOXHDM makes a perfect installer since it all ready has the option to backup your C drive. And SID is already pimped when you use an top level product you get top level results.
People are letting the XBOX die, but there is so much more we can learn from it and do to it. Im convinced there are more exploits than the ones currently found, and not only is it fun, but people forget M$ learned from what was done on the XBOX. Everything they employed in the 360 was to block exploits found on the XBOX. Moving basic functions from HDD to board was a direct result of learning from what we could do with a softmod. Live has also crippled 360 modding no one wants to sacrifice it.

Wow! This sounds like an excellent tool that will totally streamline the softmodding process. As I'm sure you're aware, this will help me out with my softmod problem immensely! As sppv knows, I've got a softmodded xbox that I upgrade the hdd as I don't have a copy of MechAssault to remove the original mod. I ordered a copy on epay to solve my problem, but I'll try this package first and will report any bugs, etc.! Now to track down yet another IDE hdd...

Always glad to help, although my motives are not totaly altruistic Ive been working on this for a long time since I do alot of softmodding and HDD upgrades for people and Ive always hated having to remod afterwards. Ive tried Krazies method to suposedly image the drive so that a bulid can be done without the remod but it always left me frozen at the logo screen until I popped in Splinter Cell and did a removal. And I cant knock DPNdure the program is sick and more advanced than anything I think I could ever write but the mod leaves something to be desired. Whereas this will give you almost the exact same as doing a standard mod with SID (if you compare drives you will see some files have been moved but its almost a mirror image)

If you do encounter any bugs please either post them here or PM me. And please include as much info as possible, screenshots/pics if you can along with anything else you think may be pertinent I dont care how small and meaningless the bug seems, since it could lead to other big and meaningful things. Clock loop/time not set error starts small and ends big.
Hope it works well for you rorysl, and if you need any help you know where to find me

So then this will work on a 1.6 xbox? I'm asking because today I saw an xbox in Savers for $20 and I couldn't resist, figuring it would be nice to have a spare for parts or in case my other one breaks down. I still haven't tried the softmod yet, so I was thinking maybe I would do it on this one instead, since it is newer by 3 years. But then I saw it was 1.6 (1.00.5838.01) and so I wasn't sure if I could do a softmod on it since I've read conflicting reports on modding the 1.6 models. It would be great if this will work on it.

Hey that's great news! I guess I'll be able to use the AID disk also after the softmod?
Just noticed that you've got the dual-boot HD version up! Awesome. Can't wait to try this out.

This only fits on DVDs, and should work perfect. Ive never tested this with 2.2

Thanks Demonoid XBOX Crew for helping with the testing and pointing out the bugs, couldnt have done it without you. And as always thanks DJB none of this could have been done without your kickass SID5 mod. And thanks Hobbs for hosting and as always putting up with the limitless headaches I cause

Update: New interface for SID5 Pimped coming soon. It will allow a choice of all dash boards when asking to copy files for E after doing the softmod, support for ROMS and install discs over 2GB without using a bootdisc and the size of the install files has been reduced considerably. Still some bugs to work out but Im aiming for a release to testers by the end of June
