Im trying to upgrade my soft modded xbox. It still has the original drive 8g and I just bought a 500g WD ide it . The problem I have is that chimps will not recognizethe 500g when scanning. I think i have the jumper settings right maybe bad copy of chimps? thanks for the help.

Is the xbox a 1.6 or are you getting a green screen?

thanks for the reply.

The xbox is 1.1...chimps 2.4 boots but does not read the 500g only original drive. I tried xboxhdm samething. The drive is not detected in bios but its a really old computer thinking the bios is only limited to 137g. The drive im trying to upgrade to is WD5000AAKB. Should I try chimps 2.6 but I cant find it.

I get a flash of a green screen but boots into chimps.

Are you sure the new HDD is set to slave for chimp?

All the list i check say that that HDD works.

Yeah Im pretty sure its set to slave. Today im going to try another pc later today. Do you know where I can get chimps 2.6? thanks

Maybe I got a bad hdd?

Thanks for your help.

Problem was the hard drive it was bad. Once I had it replaced work liked a charm thanks for all the help.

Now is there a tutorial using xbpartitoner?thanks again.
