I have done soft mods on 4 xboxes and have added a hard drive to one of them. I got a new 1.4 xbox and thought I would jump on and mod it real quick. I d/l XBMC ID 1.20 and got the softmod files since that would be the newest of everything.
Problem #1 I use a usb jump drive and I dont have Action Replay since i had that on a old pc and I cant find a free version of it. SO I had to stick with the softmod that was on the usb drive. I think it was Krazies 1.1. All went fine softmod, backup, mount V drive. But after the mod I used teh AID 1.2 disk I made so I could get XBMC to install and all skins and be my DASH I ran into a few issues.
Problem #2 dashboards/Install to XBMC to E (softmod)/retail E I. It installs but I try to install ANY SKINS I get ERROR 3 UNZIPPiNG error. Plus with Xunleashed as my dash XBMC isnt in APPS. Its in E:XBMC folder but when I launch it via file manager i get a black screen put i here clicks as i move up and down.
Problem #3 I thought WTF I will just FTP it to dashboard folder but when i add it to flashfxp it ont connect and Im connecting to correct IP w/pw.
Any ideas how i can get XBMC as my dash and/or get SID 5 (newest build) on a mc so i can get it on the new xbox so i can start over with that mod. I do have other modded xbox but cant figure how to get it on the moc via ftp or Action replay if I could find one. Thx

UPDATE In messing with settings in XUleashed i got FTP to work.
Cant I get the newest build of XBMC and put it in the Dashboard folder and over write anything thats there from Xuleashed??
I really wish i could do this right because i know Im having to work way harder then i should for this mod.
hMM as I look through FTP I see alot of XBMC files and folders in Z drive. Scripts, and almost all of xbmc files from teh loosk of it. 1080i, 14, 18,24, 720p, apple movie trailers, addons update checker.

Update..
I found a Zip of action replay for my ps. Did the driver update so my USB stick would show up on AR. Uninstalled the softmod. Used the SID5 from AID 1.2 to softmod the Xbox. After the Ava was used to install the softmod i used ! click install to get XBMC on the xbox as my dash. After the install of 1 click my dash is BLANK. I can hear the sounds if i move up and down but no images at all.
HELP!!!

If you want to make XBMC your default dashboard, what you are going to want to do is create a folder and call it EvoXDashBackup and then put the "evoxdash.xbe" in the folder. From there create a shortcut to where XBMC "default.xbe" is located. From there, rename the shortcut to "evoxdash.xbe" or whatever your default dashboard name is. Then, put the shortcut onto the drive where your dashboard is. Then reboot your xbox. But remember you must have FTP access and you also must keep your xBox on until you are finished ALL your steps.

hi
not sure if i did it the correct way, but mine works a dream.
all i did was go to the dashboard folder and reaname default.xbe to default.old and change the skin folder to skin.old.
extracted XBMC and just ftp the whole lot to the dashboard folder.
like i say, mines works with no probs (so far) and if the s**t hits the fan i still have the EvoX dash ( just need to change the filename and folder back to the originals)
any feedback on my way of doing it would be nice as i am new to modding myself

Thats one of the xbmc skins go into the xbmc skins folder with file explorer and delete all but project mayhem and reboot you will now be able to see everything.
