I'm trying to figure some stuff out before I upgrade my hdd.
About a week ago I softmodded my xbox using the splintercell save. I've been reading tutorials for a couple of days now about hdd upgrades, and alot of tuts say to use the xboxhdm. AID grabbed my attention because it seems like i can just install the new hdd, format it, prepare it, and its ready to go. But thats not right is it?
Or even with AID, do i still have to use the xboxhdm method?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a link at the bottom of the guide for the xbox ver. 1.6 if you need that.

Thanks for the quick reply!
when i clone the new hdd, which is 500gb btw, do i then use the xbpartitioner in order to get the rest of the space? Ive been reading about cluster size... Ive seen some say 64, and others say 32... could someone clear that up?
Thanks again

once you clone the drive use the AID disk here: http://www.aidtracker.com/ and reinstall with softmod one click install for larger HDD and you should be fine.
32 clusters are for a partition over 250 GB and 64 is for lets just say a huge drive like 500 + GB.
With one click install you dont need to think about that stuff.

I know its prolly stupid and you already know, but make sure you have a drive that will work, not all of them will with a softmod.

Just wanted to give an update...
Chimp 2.6 worked flawlessly and painless with my Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKB 500GB from newegg! Had problems with it not being recognized, but that was because I didn't set the jumper to slave. Once I realized that it was smooth sailing.
Thanks for your help! Xbox Hq is the ****

As i said a few posts up 32 clusters are for a partition over 250 GB and 64 is for lets just say a huge drive like 500 + GB.
With one click install you dont need to think about that stuff.
Since you have a 320 GB HDD you wont need to change the cluster size.
