My regular x box won't work. It flash's green and red and on the tv it says call customer support. Does anyone know how I can fix this? The error code is 13 or 14

Welcome to the XBOX-HQ, we hope you enjoy this and all the other HQ sites we have to offer.
13 - kernel - Dashboard launch fail (due to missing/bad key, or anything else that would prevent it from running) and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed.
The error it gives is because of the incompatibility between the (older) dashboard (4920) that older slayer cd installs and the new dashboard/kernel versions found in some new xbox's and found in xbox's that have been connected to xbox live (when you go on xbox-live, it'll upgrade your dashboard file to i believe it is now 5659.03. This dasboard is incompatible with the dash that (old) slayer cd installs (for example 2.5 or lower) for you.
(In detail, in the eeprom chip there is a kernel which is incompatible with the dashboard (4920) that slayer installs.)
So what do you do to fix it? You can use the dashupdate found on most new xbox games! Be sure to 1st unplug your ethernet cable before you do so!!!
Besides that, just use a good installation disc and all is fine. Use a 2.6 slayer or something similar
Same thing as above (error 13). This time it is also a little mistake from you on changing names or having played around with files on the xbox harddisk. Error 14 is most often because you changed boot orders or names of startup files on the harddisk. It can also happen when you are rebuilding your xbox harddisk with a slayer cd and the power was cut.

Sorry i don't know what you mean?? The xbox isn't hooked up to the net and if it was i cannt access the menu. Ive just tried dvd's and that doesnt work either. Could u please help

Thats what i am trying to do, so the xbox wont boot an original game at all?
Do you have a copy of the xbox eeprom?
Do you know any one with a chipped xbox?
Do you have a desktop PC with an ide input?
With the answers to those i can show you a way to repair it but you will delete anything you had on the HDD or you could just chip the box and that will fix it. _________________

yeah the xbox will play games no problem. The answer to all the other questions is no. Couldnt i just install a dashboard from a disk?? Create a disk then burn it onto a cd. Soz im new at all this

i've never seen a dashboard update from a a game before. Thanks for all Ur help but i went and got another xbox so i'll just try again. Have you any guides of how to get windows running on the xbox?? Trust me man of all the things an xbox can run and run well windows is not one of them, it does not have enough memory or processor to run it at even a half assed rate. _________________
