The question here is: when really are those 32k clusters needed? From what I've found: with disks ~>250Gb. But: disks or partitions? I would prefer to avoid big clusters, but on the other hand - if I have to have them on this big partition only then the waste shouldn't really be big (as the numer of files vs their size isn't that great).

You just need 32k for large partitions and only if the partition is larger then about 230GB to be safe.

What wes is saying is you'll be ok with 16k clusters because with a 131 gb F:\ and the rest to G:\ is not making a large partition.

Hmmmm.... I went with "everything for F - nothing for G" option somewhere - so assume that my ~230GB F: partition should have 32k clusters, just to be safe...? I'm guessing that AID's option 'Larger HDD (E+F+G)' takes care of this? (damn. now I'm not even sure if I didn't chose just 'Large' - it's almost 9 in the morning and it was an all-nighter for me Cool ).
In any case: after all the installation AID shows nicely that I have F: ~230GB and G:0GB. So it's just like I expected (and wanted). But XBpartitioner says "LBA48 info not found...", and all the other scarry stuff and then doesn't show that F and G partitions at all (and I suppose it should). So - should I worry/be scared? I really wouldn't like to loose the data after I fill up the drive... Crying or Very sad

So if xbox partitioner is showing you have free space just put it all in F with 32k and you will be fine.

The (F) partition is formated and shows ok (like said - in AID - and now also in other apps). I would like to be sure that it's ok. How can I check for cluster size? (if XBpartitioner shows just that LBA48 error and doesn't show it?). I have BIOS X2 4983.06 which - as far as I checked - should support LBA48. So what is that message about "Custum partition will not work with this BIOS"?!?
(sorry for all this but please note that I did loose data previously because of LBA48 issue - I rebooted my Win2K system to Win98 not knowing that it doesn't support it at all - everything seemed to be all right until some day Win2k stopped booting. Apparently it works until data exceed 32-bit addressing boundary or something like that - then data just loop'ed into 'random' places.)
Right now I'm starting to expand my backed ISOs to that F drive with Qwix. And I'm going to sleep. At this point the worst case scenario is to loose about 2-5 hours of work. Rolling Eyes

Have you made an X-2 config .ini to run with the chip?

I believe I didn't. I basically just replaced old 8-10GB dive with 250GB and booted AID.

Just a bit of info on the X2config App.
http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?p=224052

our powerful X2 Config Live series. We have now added *16* further options for you to play with - and we are still working on even more !!!

Added to 5035 x2config.ini :

- colorFlubberScene1 + colorFlubberScene2 + colorFlubberScene3 -> these 3 colors replace the colorFlubberScene parameter
- blobPulse -> enable/disable blob pulse
- fastAni -> faster animation
- iFilter -> apply interlace filter on startup
- msLogoTransEn -> enable transparency for microsoft / custom logo
- msLogoTransColor -> microsoft / custom logo transparency color
- noFlubBg -> disable the flubber machinery
- noSound -> turn off bootsound
- showMsEn -> show microsoft / custom logo
- showXEn -> show x logo
- spikeyBlob -> turn on spikey blob
- slowMoBlob -> whole anim in slow motion (not recommended)
- useAllMemory -> release all debugkit memory after xbe launch - this still doesnt fix the halo/debug nonboot-issue...
- noLightEn -> disable x logo upper-right corner lightsource
- xLightColor -> x logo upper-right corner lightsource color

As of this moment I have: what seems to be plain, unpatched X2 4983.06 (256). That's what BIOS Checker says. I have 230GB partition F: showing ok. I'm filling it up, but nothing that I couldn't re-FTP, also (just in case) I make regular game-save backups to PC, because I'm quite sure something is wrong... I tried to flash BIOS with any other 256 BIOS from AID, but it refused. Have no i dea why (some switch on modchip?) Sad
I'm beginning to go crazy...
(and just btw: is there any way to point AID BIOS Flasher on CD/DVD to my LBA48 patched BIOS no X's HDD?!?)
(btw: is there any way to check if the BIOS is already LBA48 patched - afai checked - it's only about some 2 bytes...Sad)
