I have 2 x3 chips, chips only no cables etc. I have soldered one of them into a v1.0 xbox. I think the bios on the X3 is flashed incorrectly and I have no way of changing banks as I currently do not have the bank switch. What I am trying todo is put the chip into its backup mode which usually has flashbios on it. However I do no have the eject/reset pcb. So i am trying to figure out if there is a alternate way to get the X3 into backup mode. _________________

Are you even able to get the chip to boot up because you said that you don't have any of the cables. You need at least one cable to hook the D0 wire up so that the xbox will look for a bios on the LPC point.
As for setting the banks up I think the X2.6 programmer will work for it but you might want to ask wes on that one. _________________

yea i forgot to post that i did solder the Do, Lan, and HDD cables. I soldered diretly to the pins on the chip and I used a multimeter to verify em. Also I think the chip isnt flashed correctly because it defaults to a 1mb flash bank when the external switch isnt plugged in. So I dont think that bank is flashed with a proper bios _________________

If you can boot AID you can use the bios flash tool in it to fix the bios. _________________

I can boot AID via softmod but you can only flash a chip if you boot from the chip _________________

the chip will not flash if I am booting from the xbox bios. Your chip flashed cause you had a working hacked bios _________________

wes thats the problem I dont have the PCB that attaches to the power and eject buttons therefore that wont work. I was seeing if anyone knew a workaround for this.
Ok so here is howto get the X3 into backup mode without having the eject pcb. I used the pwr and ejt points from the chameleon chip and soldered them directly to the pins on the x3 thus allowing normal operation. This wasnt easy but it worked! _________________
