I was attempting to softmod a friends upgraded hd for his xbox and my X3 Chip will not show anything on the screen after rebooting. I connected my Hdd and the same thing. I can boot into FLASHBIOS but when just booting normal(m$ and evox ) the screen simply shows snow on it. The MAC address in the Flash Bios shows 00:00:00:00:00:00:00 so I cant network flash; plus it is showing an unable to read sector error on 4 different Hdds. Also my XBOX is 1.6 with 320GB HD(Maxtor) with X3ce modchip

Welcome to the HQ, we hope you enjoy the site.

The other HDD's wont boot since they are locked with the eeprom file of different xboxs.
You cant just pull the HDD from one xbox and put it in some other xbox.

You need to use XBOXHDM to set up a large HDD on a soft mod system. Wink

I probably should have mentioned that this is a new HDD soo its not locked. It actually loaded fine initially but after I went into config magic to lock it the trouble began. It only shows snow on the screen unless I try to but into Flash Bios then it shows the screen. if booting with the Chip disabled still snow. I did notice that the X3CE stays red for a moment (12 secs) then it changes to blue.

If it all started with locking the HDD i wold use xboxhdm to unlock it and if it works unlocked just leave it that way since the HDD of a chipped box does not need to be locked to work.
