To copy the games i take it you need to link the xbox to the pc

Yeah man just get QWIX 101 and use it to ftp the xbox and you can extract the game right off the disc to your PC from the xbox D drive. _________________
Yep, using an RJ45 ethernet crossover cable. Its a network cable that connects to both Xbox and PC/Laptop.

yep i know what a crossover cable is, thats simple, i thought it would involve making my own consisting of a controller cable and solder the wires to the wires from a usb cable,
so i get a crossover cable and use QWIX 101 to transfer the files, if i want to put a new hard drive in is it easy to do

Nope, you don't need to create anything and certainly no soldering takes place. All you need is the cable.
Yep, nice and easy to upgrade your drive.. Simply use a program called Chimp. A tutorial for the program can be found underneath my sig. Do you know what version your Xbox is?
