I know guys this is proababllya n00b thing but i am trying and its not working. My nephews HD crashed i have my old 10g from my xbox v1.6 i modded mine and installed a 80g hd. now his hd won't even spin restored with my files to hd and when i put it in his xbox get 06 error put it back in mine to unlock then put it in his then 05 error tried doing everything i could find on 05 error to no luck somebody pleasehelp?

Error 5- HDD isnt isnt locked. The HDD needs to be locked with the motherboards unique eeprom

my xbox is modded with a xenium chip. His had softmod before the hardrive crashed.

so i should maybe hot swap the drive from mine to his? after the softmod isn't the eeprom on the hdd not mobo?

You are going to need his eeprom from the mobo. So, you have a couple choices here.

!st off, did you happen to save his eeprom before this crash?

If not you gotta do one a the fallowing....

1.Put your chip in his xbox long enough to lock the hdd to the mobo.

2.Build an eeprom reader to save the eeprom from the mobo straight to your pc. Then lock it with XBHDM 1.9.

Tell us which you decide to do or if you have the eeprom, and we'll help you out!!!!

Correct. The eeprom reader is kind of difficult as it has to be perfect or you can fry things on the xbox!!!!!!

Is your Xenium solderless or solered in? if its solderless it shouldnt be a problem at all.

it is solderless but we have already tried to put the mod chip in his and the d0 circuit is bad sa it will not come on. now what?
