If a hd can't be locked does it mean it will not boot in the console?
Why do I ask!
Well I have tried FinalClouds tut. several times with Chimp and the program freezes on 49% of the Physical IDE device Scan. It was a brand new HD, so I then tried to format it both FAT and NTFS with the same results.
It maybe a bug issue in AID2, with chimp 2.4!
I then gave pirrups tut. ago and at the end of the locking process it had
"completely successful" but one line read "lock - no". The drive has booted four times with one freeze only. A quick boot with a game and a quick browse on xmbc and other apps appeared to be working.
If the HD is locked O.K can someone help with this one!
The problem is the HD shows F: 120.516gb and an E:4.448gb
It's a 250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10

if your Xbox is softmodded and it booted after then it locked ok.....
if it keeps freezing then somthingis wrong
but it sounds like 1. the files got messed up or 2. the HDD is no good..
mabe try to do it again with XboxHDM....
format it and start a New HDD from scratch..
PS you need to format a G drive to get the rest of the space...

Thanks robbieboy,
I used xboxhdm to lock the drive but didn't format a G: partion.
As this hdd doesn't appear in the harddisk lockable archives I wasn't real sure if it was locked.
I'll try again later as I had to plug the old hdd back in so my son could watch a movie as i could not get xbmc on the new hdd to detect my video files on the pc.

O.K - First thing robbieboy, don't think your ever to old.
I'm 39 and still play the occasional game. There was an aricle in the paper last week about how the alzheimers assoc. has praised the consoles for there help in keeping the mind active.
Have formatted a G: and now have
C: 499 E: 4.534 F: 123.408 G: 107.376 X:749 Y:749
Xbox does show as up as locked drive.
I can now access shares on pc and have had a couple of freezes from
a dozen or so boots.
Thanks for your help _________________ xbox v1.2

There was a game that came out for Game Boy DS that exercised your mind, and was made specificly for old people. Not saying you guys are old or anything as it was designed for senior citizens. _________________

Not quite a senior citizen yet, lol.
Guys is it possible to boot games on the G: and F: partions from the evox dash.
Can I modify the evox ini as it only see's games on E: when i click on play games from hard disk?
It would be nice to be able to see all games from all partions.
I can boot F: and G: through complex tools, but its a little complicated for my young boy.
Also have a new game ' Mdnight Club 3" that freezes when booting from the disc and hdd, searches for game saves but there are none as it's new, and then freezes, any ideas?

Yes it is possible, all you have to do is add
F:\Games and
G:\Games
to the locations EvoX uses to look for games in the evox.ini file. Just add them underneath where it says E:\Games currently.
As for your freezing game, try clearing the contents of the E:\Cache folder. I'm sure that will sort your problem.
Have yet another question, when i use complex tools or dvd2xbox i can see both F: and G: partions, when I use flashFTP on the pc it shows c d e x y z partions.
I have flushed the directory cache in flashftp but still shows the same. _________________ xbox v1.2

Well i use SmartFTP for my FTP'ing but i think FlashFXP should work too. If you have ExoX i don't know if you can turn on and off F:\ and G:\ like you can in UnleashX. If you can then turn both of them on, then wait for like 3 hours and FTP again. It should show up now. _________________
