Smile Hi all at HQ

The time has come to upgrade my boys xbox with a spare 200gb WD.
I have been looking at pirrups tut. but I need a little help on step 1. Confused

http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-153.html
Steps:
1. First take a backup from your retail disk (C,E drive and your eeprom) , you can use evox to backup eeprom.(eeprom backup can be found on E)

I have backed up the eeprom. bin using system configuration/backup in evox, the backup folder appears on C: and contains bios, eeprom, hddkey and disk bin files.
I have replaced C and E in the xboxhdm/linux folder as per tut. but not 100% sure what to place in the xboxhdm/linux/eeprom folder!
Do I only need the eeprom bin file from the C backup folder and nothing else copied to the xboxhdm/linux/eeprom?
Thanks

Need a bump to the right forum!!!

Yes mate..... Just the eeprom.bin file.

But it should be in E/UDATA/21585554/0000000000000/backup. or something like that.

Seeing as how your Xbox is a v1.1, it might be easier to use Chimp to simply clone the drive. That way, you get to keep all your existing data and file structure and gain XXGb of space.

There is a tutorial for Chimp under my sig. You could be upgraded in 10 mins!

Surprised Thanks for the quick replies,

Sorry guy's all this time i had the xbox and i think its a 1.2 rev!
Manufacture date is 2003-10-13 and its made in China s/n 5054194 34205.

I have looked at both pc tutorial and chimp and not sure what's best.
I softmodded with SID3 and AID2 some time ago and have looked in the UDATA folder but can't find any sign of a backup folder there.

I beleive that there is a different tut. for chimp if your xbox is not rev 1.1

Nah, the tut works for versions 1.0 - 1.5. It doesn't work on v1.6 boxes, you have to do a different method.

I should know, I wrote the tut, lol. Cool

Smile sorry FinalCloud should have read the tut. more carefully.

If anything goes wrong with either method will it still boot from the original HD?
Downloading chimp 2.4 now, do I just ftp the extracted HddCloner folder over to the E: apps folder?

Thanks
