I was screwing around like a new idiot and managed to get my box to boot up to a 05 error. I have a new HDD of 100G and want to install it. I know nothing of xboxhdm or how to use it whatsoever. Is there a way to hook up my new HDD to my desktop as a slave and partition and install a new softmod without getting my dumb ash lost in a ftp connection? Is there a way to get my desktop to work with FATX and make the nessisary partitions for a beginner?

Error 05 means your hdd is unlocked you need to lock it and your xbox should work.If you need help with some other stuff check out this web site lamma.com

Do you still have the game and exploit you softmodded with?
If so, just open XBHDM and unzip THIS and put the files inside it inside the C folder in the xbhdm 1.9 folder.
Now, you need your eeprom.bin from the xbox, should be a 256k file. Place that in the XBHDM 1.9 eeprom folder.
Then click make-iso-win, burn the ISO, power down the PC with the disc still in, make sure all other hard drives are UNPLUGGED except the new one. run the disc, select option 1, and say yes to anything that may pop up, then select option 1 again, just say yes to anything that may pop up. Now, reboot the system and this time choose option 3, and then type "lockhd -a" without the quotes of course. there you have it, put it in the xbox and boot up to a fresh copy of the M$ dash!!!! _________________ Hotswap Tutorial|FTP Tutorial|HyperX Flashing Tutorial

Hopefully you have a back up of your eeprom file. Xboxhdm will get you where you need to be. Just set your new hdd to master and boot from the xboxhdm disc.

Do I have to figure out how to link to my box and pull out my eeprom file? I restored my dash with my old HDD using a mod chip. I hope I don't have to buy a router. (llama.com doesn't exist?)

Here is llama.com, and if you hdd is back up and running from a modchip as u say, do u still have the modchip or did you just use it to fix it? Thank you. After getting a mod chip to relock my drive, I was able to backup my eeprom. I had a little confusion with xboxhdm for the simple stupid reason that I was trying to type "y" instead of "yes." I am glad I didn't need a router. Oh and Xplorer 360 worked grreat. Thank You!
