Hi all,
First time to the site and looks really cool. May have to stay awhile.
In a moment of madness I have tried to update my dashboard and make XBMC the frontend.
In the process I have crashed evox. It now freezes on the Xbox Xecuter 2 spalsh page.
Now because it is only semi broken and feezes at this point it willl not read CDrw or DVD-r so I cant get a recovery CD in. I have tried hotswapping it but that doesn't seemed to work either. I get a HD primary master failure. Then HBHDM goes nuts saying there is no hd ON DEV/HDA.
i have tried every combination of ide cable arrangement to no avail. Even just having cd and HD plugged in.
The normal MS dash works fine and even though I don't have any Xbox game discs to try in it, it will still play dvds.
I'm sure I could fix the problem if i could get ftp access to the C drive. Howver I am now really realy stuck. please help.
If it was a bios problem would I be able to use the normal Xbox functions?
I haven't tried and retail game yet but the dvd player and ms dashboard still work fine when the mod is switched off.
How would I go about reflashing the bios on the modchip?

if the msdash works ts not the C partition of the drive, the reason the msdash still loads is when the chip is off, it reads the onbard bios from the motherboard that ms has on it, to flash the modchip you need to either be able to load AID, or you need a programmer for the X2. thats the only ways i know of _________________ Please post all PC Questions at PC-HQ.com

Ok I really have no idea about AID or flashing the modchip using a programmer.
Where would I find a tutorial or a shop to sell me a programmer?
