I turned my Xbox on the other day and it gave me error code 13. I haven't done anything to it recently. I know this is usually caused by people messing with the dashboard files, but I haven't done anything on the box except for play games for at least a month. When I put a game in (including Live games) I get error code 21, and when I try my AID disc, I get 14. Please, please, please help me if you have any idea what might have caused this or, better yet, how to fix it without buying a new HDD. My Xbox is (obviously) softmodded, and I'm running XBMC as the default dash. Thanks.

If your can't boot games, you have 2 options:

If you backed up your eeprom, then create a xboxhdm disc, attach your HDD to the PC, unlock it, replace the C files with a backup or a copy of the 5960 dash files, lock the drive, then put back into xbox and re-softmod.

If you don't have a backup of your eeprom, you'll have to do the same steps but hotswapped, not unlocking/locking. If you need help with the hotswapping, check my signature for a link to a tutorial on how to do that.

I was hoping it could be fixed without opening the box up, but I guess I don't have a choice. Thanks for your help.

So, do I need to be scared about unlocking the drive? I lost my last drive doing that. I still have my original XboxHDM disc, but would hotswapping be safer? Thanks again for your help.

If you have the eeprom.bin file on your PC, then the HDD can be locked again if you unlock it accidentally or intentionally

I am having the same error codes also but would it be possible to hotswap using an slayers 2.6 disc to unlock the drive and then use an external USB adapter to get into the harddrive and tranfer the files in. Then relock with slayers. My harddrive has 0 files on it and im having problems ftp into it so any help would be great. Thanks in advance
