Alright, I've searched and searched, and obviously I'm a noob, but I need help installing this modchip. I've never soldered before, but a buddy of mine will take care of that. From what I've seen, I need to solder the pin header to the mobo, and the chip to the pin header, and connect the D0 via wire (which the company I bought the modchip from didn't include, so what should I use, what gauge, etc.?)

I'm a little confused about the BT, should I connect this to the back of the eject button, on the upper left area?

And lastly, and most importantly, what is the blue "circuit board" piece which was included used for? All it says on it is 1.6 circuit board, and in all of the pics I've seen with this chip installed, I've never seen this piece. It also has a D0 flat pad on it, do I solder this as well, and to where? Do I even use this piece. Help!

you can use 30 gauge wire for the d0 and the blue circuit board you have is for a 1.6 xbox, its a LPC board, its used if your doing a pinheadder instead of a solderless install.

Do you have a 1.6 xbox?

Actually, I have another question, with every pic I've seen of the xbox mobo, and modding it with a chip (with a pin header), the pin header goes through the mobo. On mine, there are no holes. I don't even have a hole to put the D0 wire through so I could solder onto the other side. They are just small, flat areas where I can solder on top of. And I've made sure I'm looking at the same area as on the pics. Any thoughts?

I beleive that the 1.1 has solder filled LPC holes. You can lay some solder wick across the lpc hole, heat the wick and it should remove the solder, allowing you to insert your pin header.

Your method sounds more complicated than its worth, and a desoldering bulb or desodering braid is fairly cheap and theres a less chance of lifting a trace using these tools.

Take it from a expert, using tooth picks is not recommended. Some times being to cheap can be costly in the end.

lol you can make one. But get off the tooth pick phase, if nessary you can blow hard on it and it should fly out of the holes if your fast enough.

You can make a mini vaccume pump by getting a babys vaccume bulb at your local pharmacy. There is another way but you would have to make a vaccume.
