Apparently i found out i screwed up my video settings thinking i was changing the dvd settings to allow my xbox to read other regions. What im askin anyone who knows this older version is how many lines down is the dvd encode changer on hte menu. I changed it to pal and now my screen flickers to much and is in black n white so i cant even see what I am doing. If anyone remembers or knows any help would be appreciated. Hm, I don't really know what you can do here either...
The only thing I could think of is make sure that your Xbox region is right (either pal or ntsc) and your dashboard region is right (usually setting to auto is good).
If it still doesn't work, try rebuilding your C Drive by doing this:
- Unlocking the HDD
- Format C
- Install MS Dash
- Lock HDD
- Install Evox or desired dash (if you install it to C)
Apart from that I dunno what else I could mention...

I guess forahobby understands what i did., TO be more specific, i stupidly changed my US xbox version from ntcs or whatever to PAL. The screen flcikers constantly going up and down. Now that the screen is black and white, i cant see the menu becuase the screen flickers to much. What I figure is that i need to change my xbox back to the american mode and out of pal. THe auto-installer that i used is the 1.3. I hope that helps anyone else who might remember how to possbly help. Thanks to anyone who tries.

what would help is if either of you or anyone else had the menu list of how everything goes in the 1.3 installer. Im guessing i just need to find out how far the list the dvd region settings then how far down it is to change to default or whatever the US version is, im guessing US is pal,

Okay, that was simple...this is the first look I got at the 1.3...nice.
Now, I downloaded this 1.3 the first day it came out, so I am not sure what you mean by older. If you mean the 1.2final, then I have that too so let me know.
Anyway, when it boots up it is highlighting Format/Prepare HD
Tap down on your directional pad three times and press A. That will select NTSC/PAL Video Mode Switcher Menu.
The first thing that is highlighted is USA - NTSC so just press A and it should switch you back. There is something in parenthesis if this fails to work for you.
If that fails, then reboot your xbox and go through the first sequence again (three clicks down and press A), but then this time instead of just pressing A where it is, do another three clicks down and press A then.

so the thing is. I tried what you said and went three down and into the pal settings screen. I can barely see the choice of ntcs and pal so i know that much is right. Before i screwed myself over i remember using one of the options there taking me to another screen the the cd loaded. It was a black screen and had the choice of the two by pressing left and right. If we have the same build (1.3) can you tell me which option in the mode chooser takes me to this program? One more thing, i remember when i choose the pal, i tried to push B to go back but i got this screen of a big tittie girl with the blue screen of death t-shirt. Okay, here's what I did.
After booting the autoinstaller I clicked down three and pressed A.
I then tried clicking what was the first selection and nothing happened, so I went down three clicks and pressed A and came to a black screen.
It says my current Region is: NTSC
To the bottom of the screen it says:
Press A Button for PAL-EEPROM Setting
Press B Button for NTSC-EEPROM Setting
Let me know if that is what you mean, I am not seeing anything else you have mentioned, obviously I am not going to switch to PAL as I will be in the same boat as you.

The problem now is that for some reason, once I try to load the program that goes to the black screen...it never loads. It stays on that screen of Blinx and Sonic forever saying Loading. Im not sure but I think it has something to do with this. Before i screwed up, after seeing the splash screen, it said Xecuter on the bottom, now it went back to saying Microsoft on the bottom. Maybe I need to change what bios is loaded (i'm talkin outa my ass here cause I dont know whats up)?? In any case, I have another HD comin thats 120gig and is already setup with Evox and all other apps. If I install this drive with the Xbox in this condition, will its settings change the Box it the right mode or is this problem strictly dealing with the hardware (ex: plug= fixed prob)?? I'm sorry for bothering you guys but I never thought i'd screw up this badly.

ok realmccloy. Thanks for all your help, forget the last thing i said. Browsing hte forums out of frustration i came upon another guys issue who wanted pal. You guys offred him the program 'Enigmah Video Selector. Popped that thing in and now i'm set. Thanks. Now all i have to do is figure out how this installer works??? Are there any links as to where i begin in this installer setting up the Evo bios, dash, apps etc...????

Glad you got it sorted.
There's no real guide, but I can let you know what to do.
Basically, you want to just navigate around and get comfortable with the options.
First you want to format your HD according to size. If it's a retail drive or a new larger HD.
Then, you want to install Evolution X on your C drive. That is your dashboard that will load up when your hacked bios takes over. Once you have that and you boot up with your modchip enabled you will no longer get error 13 or 14, or 21 for that matter.
If memory serves me correctly, you are using stock HD so use the Retail selection.
Next, you want to install your apps. You aren't going to have much room for things on the retail drive, so I suggest an upgrade when it's convenient for you.
I have never used an installer on a retail drive, so I am unsure how many partitions you get. I am sure DJB or others who may have used it on a retail drive would know. DJB put it together, so he may just know even though he hasn't either.
I am thinking you will get drives C, E, F, X, Y, Z.
XYZ are bogus caching partitions...
You will be using E, F, mostly for installing thing to.

thanks, it woked out fine and now i have 3935 Evox on my retail.Have a 120gig loaded drive on the way so I guess i'm straight. Though now it seems i have another problem. I posted it in the appropriate section regarding the Xecuter chips. IT has to do with the Box not working with the chip of and getting that serivce message. If you or anyone else could help me there it would be appreciated.
