OK, I have an issue that I have not been able to find any relavent info on.

I had softmodded my xbox, version 1.6, and everything is working great.

I soldered a digital audio connector onto the box, and once again everything is working great.

My last feat was to get the component cables to connect to my tv, which is a SD (480i) TV. Here is where the problem comes in. When I use that cable, the dashboard comes up all garbled. I'm guessing that it is in 480p mode, which won't work on my TV..

After going through alot of things, finally removing the mod and using the stock dashboard. When using the stock dashboard everthing works great using the component cables. I execute the exploit and that is fine, install the softmod and reboot. Once it reboots and loads the dashboard, the resolution appears to be wrong. I have 480p,720p, and 1080i disabled in the MS dash and in the SID 4 settings when I do the install.

Last night I used SID 2.0 to install the softmod and everything appears to be working great.

So it seems to me that there is something in SID 4 that is changing those video settings and from what I've read it would be the BIOS/EEPROM that sets that? Is that correct?

If that is correct then I need to modify that .bin file, but I don't know where it's at.

So my question is what would cause this strange behavior and how would I fix it. Also, is there a problem with just leaving it at SID 2.0 since I don't and won't use live?

Thanks for any info you may have..
