Ok this is my problem - I have a 1.3 vers. xbox with a doux 2 chip (white) that works fine. I tried to put this chip in a 1.6 xbox to fix/replace the harddrive in it. The chip has x2 4981 bios on it . With the chip in the 1.6 the xbox just frags.If i boot with out the chip turned on its boots fine (but to the error 6 im trieng to fix) I have checked my my lpc rebuild wiring and all seems fine ,I've even resoldered them 3 times!Ive also checked to see that pin 6 was geting 5v and it is. I havent found anything as to whether x2 4981 bios is campatable with 1.6 . could this be why is frags.Ive thuoght of puting the chip back in the 1.3 and flashing the chip with m8 or x2 5035 but will this work, and also would i be able to put the chip back in the 1.3 when im done and the m8 or x2 5035 work in the 1.3 .... plaese help I need to get the hard drive replace in this thing soon.
**** Ok to answer my own question the bios was the problem. i fig. it would just freeze with a unsuported bios but insteed it frags. I was able to put the chip back it the 1.3 xbox and then right before flashing it with 5035 i flipped the bank so now i have 4981 still on it for when i put it back in the 1.3 and the 5035 for locking the new hard drive in the 1.6 . this way i only have to flash it once .... as flashing scares me lol also i have another 1.6 id like to tinker with so i can easily put this chip in that one too
