I just installed an Xecutor 2.4b Lite and 120G hard drive. When I turn on the xbox it comes up with the Cromwell bios and says to insert the bios disk. I put it in and it sits there a while then displays the CD label under all the xbox info. After that, nothing. It just sits there without doing anything. I've tried creating 256K, 512K, and 1024K bios's. I'm completely stuck now and don't know what to try next.

Make sure you burned the disc properly. Use a program like Qwix to make the iso (bios.bin and dummy file). If you use Nero Express, exit to the 'advanced users' window, the one with more options. Under the recorder menu select 'Burn Image,' and select the image. If you can't see it select "all files" from the drop-down menu.
If you did all that and it still doesn't work try a different media. Xboxes behave differently depending on the brand and whether or not it is a DVD or CD-RW.
I used an HP CD-RW and it worked fine. I've also used a Verbatim CD-RW, it worked too.
Also, make sure you didn't name the bios.bin file, bios.bin.bin. _________________ XBOX v1.1 - Philips DVD

OK, now I am getting farther. Now I get a message that says "No bios update found - halting". I have a bios.bin along with a couple dozen MP3's named "A*.*" in on the disk. Do I need anything else on there? I don't believe it is a problem with the media, as it can read the disk.

I tried the ready made bios cd with no luck. Now, all I get is the "no bios found" message. Could it be a hardware problem? I've tried 3 different CDRW brands. I have also tried burning the CDRW's by copying files and creating iso images. I am using Easy CD Creator 5 to do the burning and have tried it on two different computers. I've been doing the burning at 2x, and am using 4x CDRW's.
