ok guys. ill start from the top with this xbox
-bough from ebay a few weeks ago fo $40 (3 max)
-dvd would open somtime
-when dvd didn't open lose audio and video (doesn't bother me for the price of the box)
-softmodded it with unleashedX
_mech assult disk scrached
-im trying to get halo 2 maps from xbl (to lazy to ftp to my xbox and/or buy the disk)
so im sitting here and i get a new copy of mechassult (the right version)
and i go to boot it, i guess my cousins where having a joy ride on it, clearing stuff from the udata section on the E drive.
so the uninstall is gone, completely so i try to put the save back on, but my memory card doesn't show up so i try to but m$ dash manullly with the M$dash.xbe file and it shuts the xbox off(wtf???)
so i use AID to install the m$ dash again. shut down boot up.
boots up fine, then goes to m$ dash and loses a/v.
(i am asoming booting both dashes at once)
so i cannot go into mechassult and turn off the softmod and it boots to error code 21 when i cold boot AID (for file explorer and put my backups on)
now wtf can i do??
(my new xenium needs the D0 wire, that all need to gt that to work)

If you can't get AID or your games to boot in order to redo the softmod, then you will have to do a hotswap. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

I would go to RadioShack and get some 30 awg wrapping wire ($3.95), and connect your D0 wire. You can solder it onto the chip and just put it into the hole on the Mobo(that way you can remove it easily after you're done!) _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

well my plan was to buy it, softmodded it, paint it and sell it.
and it does read all orginal xbox games(cold boot)
but all burned media give me error code 21
and i would rather tsop flash than solder solder right in the chip

Yeah, your chip is solderless right? even if it isn't you can just place the D0 into the Via and not solder it. Just use the chip boot AID, format the HDD, install M$Dash 5960 and the softmod. Then you just take the chip off and you're done!
Or you can setup an Xbox HDM cd and do a HotSwap and load everything that way, if you don't want to use your chip. There are Tut's for this if you are interested. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

worst part of that plan is the d0 of my solderless adpter broke off and i don't have the d0 wire (for solder install)

It's 30 guage tinned solid conductor Kynar insulated wrapping wire. RadioShack part # 278-502 (White), 501 (Red), 503 (Blue). _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

if you can coldboot your exploitable game then do so... when you get to the linux ftp your xbox E folder so you can save your eeprom.bin and if personal stuff u might have....
once ftp is done try re softmoding your xbox...... and if it wont let you softmod it then you can ftp ms dashboard on a path or as a dash and start over.... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

hotswap time... .... na man this is a easy fix...
background on hotswap w/out eeprom? simple download xboxhdm1.9 ( here on hq ) extract it download ms-c from pirrup un zip it drag ALL contents of ms-c to xboxhdm1.9/C make iso win burn image to cd . and hotswap hd and less then 15 mins u got a retail xbox ....
look for a member called PIRRUP he has everything you need under his signiture... itsa a easy fix ... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
