I am very new to using Xbox and my sister just bought me an Aladdin modchip. I've looked at the diagrams on the Aladdin website but I still don't understand. Where exactly do I place the modchip? Do I just connect the wires to the "red" spots and solder the wires there? What if I do it incorrectly? Please help!

Okay, here is in my opinion what you should do. Two easy steps.
1. STOP!!
2. Read up on our tutorial section so you get a better understanding of the total mod. Not just the chip, but Hard Drive intallation, FTP'ing into and out of your modded machine. The whole nine yards!
Okay, step two isn't a easy as it sounds, but hey...we are here to help you get through this mate!
I am not real familar with the Aladdin chip but we have some real pro's here that are. If I am not mistaken, there are different Aladdin chips though, so make sure when you ask for help have all your info for us to see.
We also need to know what xbox version you are running, what size HD you are installing and in general what you want your machine to do or not to do. For instance, do you still plan on playing on xbox live?
You really need to spend some time looking over tutorials and find some better diagrams that have good pictures of the install. You need to know how to flash your chip too. Your chip may have just came with a legal bios on it. If so, you will have to flash it with a hacked bios so you can take advantage of your modchip.
I know that I just threw a lot of stuff at you, but you really do need to be a little more informed. Especially if you don't know where to put the chip. You should not be opening it up until you have a better idea of what is going on. Otherwise, you are going to either damage your machine, or set it up and be disappointed at the outcome because you don't have the right equipment for what you want to do.
If you solder incorrectly one of many things can happen. First, you can get whats called solder splash. This is when you get solder where it shouldn't be. This will cause problems and could even damage the MB (motherboard). You can overheat a certain part of the MB and damage it too. You can create solder bridges that will cause boot problems. If you dont have soldering experience you should practice first. Also practice removing solder in the event you make a boo boo.
Take a week or so and read up. Don't rush into it. Trust me, you'll be so happy once you have a properly modded machine!!
Good luck and welcome to the site! Hope to see you around contributing in the forums.

I would have to advise you to get someone experienced to do it.
In my experience people who are lost when they look at the diagrams usually mess up.
Modding an Xbox is no piece of cake for inexperienced hands...
Too much weight and you'll burn the board etc etc...
Why don't you join Xbox HQ then put up a new post for help installing in your area... I'm sure there are plenty of people willing to help at good rates.
