I have an xbox 1.6 and tried installing a spiderchip 1.1 on it...the installation worked well (at least got to the stage where I could lock/unlock hdd or load bios)...I loaded the EvolutionX V2.5 (256K) bios on it and it all fuzzed...it rebooted and it has been flashing red and green since. It will reboot twice - then the flashing lights - then a blank screen. If I try now to disable the chip...or even tried removing it and booting off the ms, I get error 05...which I am gathering is a hdd needs locked error. But at this point I haven't found a way to revert back to the original config so I can unlock/lock the hdd or try to install another bios....am I fu-fu-fu-fu-screwed?

Just letting anybody know reading this that I am purchasing a USB programmer in hopes of flashing the chip and getting it working again....will post the results as soon as I get them. Hoping anybody out there that has used the usb would be so kind as to give me the rundown so I will know what to expect...

Well...I received the USB programmer today...came with no instructions or software (had to download software...hooking it up just trial and error until I got the blue lights to all come on)...didn't matter...never could get it to recognize the chip...so couldn't read/write/anything to the bios on it...what a piece of crap.
If anybody has any ideas about locking a hard drive on an xbox without the key, please....PLEASE let me know...I'm open for any suggestions.

You want to lock the HD? I think there is a way to lock it from your computer. I haven't done it, so i cant help you out. Please do some research yourself... _________________
