I have XBMC as dashboard. When I start my XBOX the XBOX logo turns up in green. But when XBMC is started, everything is in black and white. When I start a movie or play a game, everything still is in black and white. I've tried both PAL games and NTSC games.

When I go to XBMC display settings it says: NTSC. No other option is available.

My television can't handle NTSC. I think that's the reason everything is in black and white.

NOTE: My XBOX is a PAL XBOX and it's brand new.

Why does XBMC automatically switch to NTSC? How do I switch to PAL?

I'm using XBMC.2006-01-08-CLEAN but I've also tried other versions.

xbmc has an option to autoswitch the region , turn it off ,

before you turn it off set the region to pal ,

i dont know why you dont see the pal option , i see all the regions ,

try editing the config file for xbmc and set it to pal

I assume that you have a softmod, given the topic location.

If you used SID4 nknave edition, there may be PAL/NTSC problems with the virtual eeprom, as I believe there were some problems with this on PAL 'boxes.

Try using Enigma videomode switcher (from AID) to resolve this by booting your xbox, run enigma, select NTSC, reboot, then run the app again and select PAL and reboot.

Thats the only thing I can think of at the moment, so give it a try, if the other method does not work.
