Hi,
I finally succeed with SID4. I had to use enigmah to chance the video mode, because there was something wrong with it (I have PAL xbox). But now everything else but Forza Motorsport works fine. When I'm trying to load the dvd the screen just goes black and nothing happens. I have original version of FM. My other original games works fine.
I'm using UnleashX. Is there anything I can do?

I'd first recommend clearing the cache on E drive if you've ever played the game before on that box. _________________ 2 XBOX V1.0's

Hey walzu, i am having the same problem with Forza. I have the original and it won't run from the HDD or from Launch DVD in UnleashX on my SID4 box.
The only way i can get it to run is to have the Disc in the drive on startup so it boots off that or in retail mode. All my other games work fine off the HDD or from Launch DVD.
Any ideas from those who know more than us would be great!
It should be noted that clearing the caches (E:\CACHE, X:\, Y:\, Z:\) does not help the situation.
Note: My SID4 Xbox is also PAL, and i have done the Enigmah Video switch as well. For some reason SID4 does not set the video region correctly on installation on PAL boxes. I have done 5 so far and they have all been the same.

Thanks hellblazer, but that thread has nothing about this particular problem. I would love to get nknave or djbs opinion on this one, especially becuase of how weird it is (only forza).
I've also been thinking that considering Forza will boot in retail mode, it may have an issue with the patched eeprom.

Well if it's worth anything, I cant get my backup of this working off the harddrive with Sid4. I have the same problem with Super Monkey Ball.
EDIT: Both these games work with NDURE 3.0, so there is a issue with SID4.

well, i'll try to fix as much as I can with the new release fix of SID 4.1 or something.
Thing I have to mention so you all get the idea on some stuff.
1.- I'm in the US, so no pal xbox, and i dont' have a pal compatible TV to turn an xbox to PAL.
2.- SID 4 is an installer I made with xboxes I own, all were NTSC, so theres the main reason why ppl that have PAL got some issues.
3.- DJB helped me with some pal stuff, but it seems that it's just not enough.
4. Forza NTSC works for me with SID4........but it's NTSC, and your Issue is with PAL.
5.- I'm having some conversations with ppl with higher knowledge than me and i'm trying my best to cover all issues at once, to call it a final softmod installer deluxe.
As for Forza not working you........damn, I really can't say much. OH, and Ndure 3.0 is not out as far as I know, and if it is, i'll check on it. _________________ Xbox v1.1

Donation Fund. lol, it's ok, for now, we are taking care of stuff as much as we can, i might be able to force few things with nkpatcher, but as for now, I recomend you try reinstalling SID 4, but this time install the NTSC version on our pal, then fix video with enigmah, and see if that makes your games work properly, as Forza woks for me on ntsc, mb it can work for you as well.

nknave, as i am using the SC exploit, thus am using a PAL copy of it, do you think i would be able to load the NTSC saves as per your solution?

I am experiencing the same problem. I have had a lenghty conversation with sharky about it in a prior forum topic. But it still doesn't work for me. and i am using ntsc. All i get is a black screen. and yes it is a ntsc disc. i live in minnesota. _________________ XBOX V1.6 {V1.1}

If I softmod my xbox again with SID4 will all the apps/games be erased?

no files will be touched, except the softmod.
what i meant about installing the NTSC was not about the gamesave, but the choice in SID 4 menu.
choose boot NTSC.
so you'll get your eeprom patched with NTSC patch, making your xbox NTSC virtually, then fix video with enigmah disc, see if that allows you to run Forza. _________________ Xbox v1.1
