Hi. I hope i'm posting on the right section. Well, i bought an xbox (modchip included and working) together with a 250GB HD. The bios is lacking LBA48 support and i do want to use all my HD space.
- Xbox version 1.6b (chip hynix)
- Modchip "Supper Aladdin Live"
- Boot screen showing the evox logo (red) on the upper-left side and the green xbox/microsoft logo in the center.
Questions:
1- Do i need to buy a programmer in order to flash it? isn't there any other way?
2- What bios do i need in order to add the LBA48 support? or is it a better idea to use EVtool to edit my xbox bios and then add that support to it?
I haven't touched a console in ages and any advice would be appreciated.

I did use the search function (thats why i know my xbox version, modchip used and so on) but i want to be sure to not mess anything. I haven't find anything explicit touching the "supper aladdin live and xbox 1.6b" subject as well, i just hope someone could clear that two questions up (plus i have a few more questions depending on the answers).

first thing is you need to find out what size bios the chip takes ,
i think it needs 1mb bios but im not sure , its been a while since ive messed with aladdin ,
you should be able to flash the chip with the aid disc , which already has all the bioses you would ever need ,
you should use evox-m8plus16-137 i think this is the right name _________________ Xbox v1.0/1.1/1.5/1.6a

Thanks for reply. I got the evox-m8plus16-137 (256k, 512k and 1MB) but i've been reading and some ppl say to use a 256k bios, others 1MB. Where should i look for to be sure i'm using one with the right size?

It appears as though more ppl are trying to use a 256K BIOS with the SAL model. I also found this site: http://www.freakware.de/modinfo/
Anyway, i sent an e-mail to Aladdin@360chip.com (http://www.aladdinlive.com/) and hopefully he'll answer me.

Your CHip is of course not a real Aladdin, however glad to help you anyway.
Your bios is 256kb.
You want an M8Plus Bios...
Get me on MSN messenger and I can send you a Bios.
Aladdin@360chip.com
I need to know where youe dashboard is and what dash you are going to use...
Then when you install EvoX the first thing you do is install Unleash X, it is totally awesome compared to Evo and Ava etc... _________________ For Aladdin help contact me via msn:

Hi Aladdin, thanks for answer. It's already flashed with a M8Plus 16 256K and LBA48 support (added w/ EVtool). My 250GB HD is fully recognized and everything else is working fine now except for an annoying "eject bug" that just only happens while using Unleash X. I've already tried evox, ava, xbmc, mxm and many other apps/emulators but Unleash X is the only one that reset my console when i try to press the eject button. Do you have any advice for that?

The annoying eject bug just means it was in the bios to start with.
I have some nice bios with no eject bug.
Unfortunately in their desire to learn many guys have played with Bios and posted them on various web sites, great when they work, but awful when they have bugs...
That's the main reason for not believing everything you read on the net about chips...
You could also try not using the button to eject, use your menu... Sometimes the menu will let you eject a buggy bios without rebooting. _________________ For Aladdin help contact me via msn:

Could you send me one of yours that don't have it? I'll be glad if so, pm'ing you with my e-mail. I got the bios (M8plus_16.bin) that was listed on xbins and modded it myself. I thought it was supposed to come bug free but it must be just my lack of knowledge to start off. It just happens on ulx so i was a lil curious to know why only on it.
