i dont know a whole lot about replacing an xbox drive for a pc. hopefully someone with a little more experience will be able to help. i can tell you that number one, the xbox dvd drive has a special power cable, so that the drive can communicate with the power eject buttons on the front of the xbox. number two, the motor has to be desoldered and rotated in most pc drives before their addition to an xbox. thats where it all goes foggy to me, i just dont know exactly what points need to be soldered on the dvd pcb to make it work with the xbox dvd power cord. we have a really extensive tut section here, and maybe you can find some information there. i hate to say it, but probably the only other place that you are going to get any good information on this is to search around xbox-scene . hope i was a little bit of help.

if you're replacing it with a pc drive you have to get another samsung .. dont remember what drive model ... and you can jump a few solder points update the firmware, and make your own power adapter so it works like new in an xbox. don't remember where the power cable diagram is ... like halouser said .. you might have to check xbox-scene _________________ Blue Chaos
