ok well i have soft modded a few xboxes in the past, everything went fine. A friend bought a mod chip and asked if i could help install it. So i soldered eveything and booted the xbox up. I got ot the flashBIOS 3.0.3 and created a cd with a bios and a dummy file. I tired to flash the bios and everytime i do it does nothing. I put the cd in and it goes through the whole process, yet when i turn it back on it just goes to that same screen. I have used many cd's and many different bioses. Is anyone aware of what I am doing wrong. Any help would be apreciated.
*EDIT*
I just thought of something. Would it be possible to switch my modchip off, and install a softmod and than flash the bios with the softmod, and than unistall the softmod and turn the chip back on?

If the chip isn`t turned on then you`ll be trying to flash the tsop, obviously if you havn`t enabled it, it can`t work.
Is there a flash protect on your chip? Sounds like you need to turn it off.
yeah the flash protect is off, because when its on it says no bios update, when i turn it off it boots, the yellow bar comes up (erasing i think) than the green. xbox shuts off. i turn it back on, nothing....back to the flashBIOS

no, The xbox has it`s own chip that can be flashed in older model xbox`s and this also has to be enabled, otherwise It always says flash protected.
Was just reading this site regarding the CD with the bios files on it,
yeah i renamed it to bios.bin..i am so dumbfounded. I cant believe I cannot find information regarding this problem.

<edit> FIRST STEP IS TO MAKE SURE THE MOD IS IN 1MB FLASHING MODE. IF YOU HAVE THE SWITCH CONNECTED THEN YOU NEED TO SET THE SWITCHES TO "ON ON OFF OFF OFF" THIS WILL FLASH THE X3 BIOS TO THE FIRST 1MB PART OF THE X3's 2MB FLASH ROM. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE SWITCHES CONNECTED THE X3 WILL DEFAULT TO THE FIRST 1MB ANYWAY. MAKE SURE THE FLASH PROTECT SWITCH ON THE X3 IS SET TO DISABLED.
sorry about the caps, Just as I copied it. What size bios are you using?
what about doing it via http? That way looked quite easy and dosn`t involve wasting any more discs.
