I was reading and I got the impression that if you transfer an ISO to the xbox, you can play the game without unpacking it. Normally all my folders are just in the F/G partitions as folders. If its possible to do what I thought I read, is there any advantages/drawbacks to doing that?

no, you must extract the files off the iso. you can't just play a .iso
