I was wondering if it is possible to either burn Xbox Games, or regular DVD movies to a dvd-r/w and the xbox still be able to play without modding it in anyway? Dude, let's think about that for a second. You are wanting to take a dvd which is 99.9% of the time larger than 4GIG, and xbox games that can range anywhere up to 6GIG and put them on a 700mb disk?
There are ways to convert DVD's into other formats and fit them on one CD/R CDRW, but imagine the quality loss that you will be forced to deal with. As far as xbox games, if it could fit on a CDRW...the xbox would probably read it depending on how picky your DVD Drive is. You may have to experiment with different manufactures disks, but good luck finding games that are less than 700mb.

Srry for not clarifying myself a little better.. No i dont want to burn it on to a regular CDR/W, i was looking into buying a DVD burner.. and was wondering if it would be possible to burn *DVD's and Xbox Games* and be able to play them on a XBOX thats unmodded.

OIC...HA...yeah, that's a totally different direction.
However, I don't know if I have any good news for you. Without a modchip you are very limited to what you can do. There are supposed to be a few software exploits that people claim will allow you to mod your machine without an modchip, however it's a very convoluted process, very hard to find info on, and I still think there is some hardware modification to get the job done, just not a modchip.
It can't be that great. Otherwise, you would see more of it going on and there would probably be sites just dedicated to chipless mods.
You won't fine much on it here, but I do believe xbox scene has a section dedicated to chipless mods.
To further answer your question, it's not the copying that will be the problem. It's getting an unmodded machine to read the burnt disks. Even though the xbox is capable of reading DVD-5, DVD-9, CDRW, and in some cases even CDR's right out of the shute, M$ handcuffs you and the machine via the programming that is on the machine. And, it's not programming that resides on a HD. That would be easy to overcome. If I am not mistaken, the M$ bios is located in the TSOP which is a small chip that is affixed onto the motherboard. Without installing a modchip and connecting the D0 wire, I just don't see how you can bypass that bios.
To do it without touching a machine is impossible. Like I said, your handcuffed from the day it comes off the production line. They have done all they could to make it as hard as possible to play backups.
I have only been doing this for about four months, so I may be a little off in my explanation, but the end result is still the same for sure. You are much much much better off just chipping the machine if you want to backup games. Not to mention all the other added features that you will get as a bonus!

aight thanks man.. ill probably instead of just getting a dvd burner, buy a modded xbox.. seeing that i need the xbox i have now to play online. Anyways do you know any reliable sources on here where i could probably order from, seeing that i dont know anyone around that does this. Thanks again
