Sad Error 21 Call Service Agent- F@#K
One thing I didn't need to see was this when i rebooted after a restore.
Anyway booted mechassault, opened sid3 and successfully restored. Laughing
Kids where not at all impressed Evil or Very Mad

I now need pirrups idiots guide to installing AID2. Shocked
Please correct my install steps to install an evox dash to E:
I'm guessing that I would replace E: with C: if installing to C:
No need to backup ms dash as it's still on E: from previous mod attempt?
or will E: be formatted with the install of evox.
SID3 Menu
Step 1. Install Softmod - Boot E:\Evoxdash.xbe - Tray open (Rollback)
Step 2. Patch 5960 (do I need to do this at all or only if installing to ESmile
Step 3. Reboot with AID2
Step 4. Softmod section - Install NK patcher + MS Dash - Boot E: evoxdash.xbe - Tray Open (I think I booted ms dash here last time)
Step 6. If installing to C: go - softmod section - Install dashboard - install C: dashboard - install evox.

Will this boot to E: or do I need to install x-select or something?
To restore the original MS Dash do I restore from SID3 to C: and it will boot.

Really appreciate some help as it's like the once bitten type thing!

The steps look good to me. Patching the m$dash will put it back in c:, but it will not be the retail dash. With that, you can skip your step 6. Load AID and install whatever apps you need. When you want to revert back, just select restore m$dash and it will wipe c: and reload the retail dash. Good Luck!

Thanks Dangermouse.
OK- so if installing to E: I don't need to patch 5960.
If I patch it then only the patched dash runs from C: and evox will be on E: is that right.
Just need to get my head around where the patched dash and the new dash (evox) are going.

Good ol' Dangermouse knows his softmods well. He's been real good at helping folks out of tough situations. I'm a chipped box, so I do appreciate all his advice. He's been real strong in this area for a bit now. We have a few more that are strong in this area too. I'm surprised none of them have shown up here but Dangermouse has you on the right track.

Shark, you bring a tear to my eye Wink
Looks like you got the idea! Patched m$dash on c: and Evox dash on e:. That way when you restore, you don't loose your softmodded goodies. It's good your asking questions. Better than learning the hard way. Hey if your kids don't appreciate this, pass them my way. I'll tell them about the good ol' atari 2600 days and the people with legs 5 pixels long.
Enjoy your gaming, movie watching, music listening, picture viewing machine...deep breathe.

p.s. don't forget you can also load linux on there and use it to surf the web. Shocked Shocked Laughing

Thanks All

Geez the atari 2600 wasn't around in my time. My console was one that had several built in games with two moving parts, the paddle and the ball.
Gotta love technology.

Will keep in touch.
Thanks Dangermouse
