Well, I tried to add a 120GB Segate drive to my V1.6 Xbox with Xenium SP ICE mod chip, version 2.0.1 Xenium OS, and latest 3935 EvoX dash with the latest m8 bios for V1.6 Xbox's. Needless to say all did not go well. I used the Xenium OS to do the format on the new 120GB drive and it seemed to work. When I booted from the new drive the Xenium OS came up at which point I loaded up the EvolutionX dash with the m8 BIOS and it too camu up and all functions worked. I could burn games to my PC from the Xbox CD/DVD via FTP, I could transfer the games back to my Xbox 120GB HD and even load them. Problem was every game would freeze upon loading or even before fully loading whenther loaded from DVD or the HD. I did notice that the current requirments on the 120GB drive were slightly higher for the +5 and +12 volt rails than the OEM Xbox HD. Could tha5t make a difference?

Is brand important? My OEM drive is a Segate as is the 120GB drive I purchased today. Do different brands have different power requirements? If so anyone have success adding a new drive to a V1.6 Xbox?

Thanks in advance.

Got this working. Aparently even the newest Xenium OS (2.3.0) does not work propperly when creating a new HDD (regardless of the fact there is a HDD tool to make a new HDD). So I grabbed the latest AID (2.11), burned it to DVD, installed from that and I now have a new working 120GB HD in me Xbox. Very Happy
