Take a quick search of the board for PS2 emulator or something like that, and you'll find I've briefly summarized the reasons why this is not possible/impractical. Teh problem with the PS1 emulator is that you have to have the PS1 game in a BIN format for it to work. They said they contemplated being able to just put in the CD but it made it read at 0.1x speed.
Though (to me) it would make sence to install Linux, then install a Linux PS1 Emulator. then it MIGHT be able to read directly from the disk. Though I havent tried it myself, and havent read anything to support it, but it sounds like it would work.
