Hey y'all... I need some help. I did something stupid. With avalaunch, I hit the load eeprom function and the xbox shut down. From reading I gound out that the older versions of avalaunch corrupt the xbox's eeprom. Well I have a backup of the eeprom. I just cant get the daggone xbox to start. It flashes red. Now I also read about patching the eeprom with cromwell. I did that. Uploaded it to my XBIT chip and when I start, it restarts 3 times then red green. Is the cromwell patch not compatible with XBIT? If not, then what can i do to get my xbox started? I appreaciate all your help.. Thanks...

if there is a way to load the eeprom from the PC onto the chip then you need to do that , put the backup of the eeprom on the chip , the use the chip to restore the eeprom if it has the optin , i know xenium does ,
dont know what xbit has ,
if you cant do that ..... i guess its time for a new xbox ,

I would say your buggered, eeprom and bios are different things.
If you hard drive is locked then you really are buggered, if it was unlocked then you could solder on an eeprom from the same version mobo.
I just ordered a smartXX chip. It allows you to flash your eeprom from the chip. Hopefully that works.
And the messing with stuff I shouldn't be? Haha - nice one... Thank you to the others for all your help.

I think that all he was trying to say was don't mess with something that can kill ur xbox if you don't know ti can kill it. It's good advice
As for you smartXX, I ver much doubt you will be able to boot the chip when your eerpom is already f*cked. And even if you do what will you change the eeprom to? A backup of the f*cked one?
Ok smartXX can write to the eeprom, but so can avalaunch and look what that did, Either get a new mobo (and hope your HD ain't locked) or get a new eeprom chip and solder it on.
Even if the smartxx boots, it's not going to be able to access the HD if it was locked as it won't have the password, and if you put another eeprom on there then the password will be wrong, so how do you intend to access whats on your HD?
Daggone, and I was going to become a VIP member. Well, if you gain respect by flaming and acting like a kid, then I want no part of this. He was not giving advice after his first post and I never initially insulted him. How can a respected member ruin a discussion and make it totally useless for other members? He may have respect from other people but will never have my respect.
Now as for you custom-xmodz, you have my repect. Thank you for your advice custom-xmodz. Your information was helpful however I know what I need to do. I have a good backup of my eeprom. If my eeprom is toast, it would make more sense to replace the current eeprom.
I just was not able to get cromwell to work. Don't know how this discussion brewed into all this. I think I will flag this post to a moderator so it can get cleaned up. This is just hogging up valuable space and is totally useless.
