SERIOUSLY WTF? I know many did it but WHY? Its a couple of keystrokes to make an NKP xbe that runs HD/SD and just auto detects the AV pack. WHY all that(^link) bullshit? Why seperate NKP HD/SD xbe's. Hobbs/DJB/Krayzie/Kingroach/Nknave? It makes no sense. If theres a legit tech reason please somebody enlighten me before I nuke a bunch of XBOX's with the new
Babylon (oops I didnt say that, cant prove it)

i dont understand this at all either. In PAL land we just plug in the HD A/V pack and we are good to go HD.. I was running it for a while but still not that nice. I can't see any reason for a softmod to have to be patched to go HD?? Maybe it's a NTSC thing. _________________ HQ Network:

is it some sort of twisted joke?
you get all the hi-def shit with sid 5.11 anyway, all you need is the Y.Pb.Pr. cable and that it!
can't understand why they'd want to go the long way round when it's there by default?!?!?!
oh well, i'm not qualified in this area so.... _________________ to all my friends... farewell and all the best to future prosperity... and remember, be excellent to each other!

i actually used this article a few weeks ago when i couldnt get my box to switch modes, because i used shadowc the settings for hd/ntsc would revert everytime i rebooted. in the end xbmc just does it automatically now without rebooting, only needing to restart xbmc, but once i do reboot the settings for xbmc hd revert too.
i ended up re-installing my softmod without shadowc to solve this.
i spent ages trying that article but it didnt work, and theres more articles just like it.

Call home? Who am I? Micro-Douche? LMAO. I just enable the force progressive by default in my xbe's. It checks your AV pack. If you rocking the ol SD pack it doesnt force progressive. If you rockin the ol HD pack it auto forces progressive and enables 480p, 720p, 1080i in Ux and XBMC. Evox/Ava are unchartered land as to this with my edits.

Glad you brought this up SPPV. Now I can throw in a related question.
My xbox has a 320GB drive built by Autobuilder with UX as dash and XBMC as an app since I'm running Shadow C.
Here's what annoys me.
Suppose I have my HD plugged into the tv, when I go from UX to XBMC it doesn't have 480p, 720p or 1080i enabled at all. I have to turn them on manually.
When I turn off the console and turn it back on and go back into XBMC, it goes back to standard and I have to manually re-enable 480p,720p and 1080i.
Why can't XBMC 3.2.2 just autodetect my HD cables and automatically fill in those HD video resolution bubbles?
Been a pet peeve of mine for a while.

With XBMC be sure first you run MS Dash and enable HD, then enable it in XBMC. SHould be fine after that. Autobuilder used (depending on release) the SID5-5.12 builds which for at least 5.12 hadnt touched the src patch code, I cant say for sure if DJB did any tweaking on the 5-5.11 SIDs.

Hold on a second, if I have Shadow C installed then I am unable to access the M$ dash since it is found on the hidden C drive correct?
I've tried clicking on the M$ dash menu option in the past through UnleashX, but all it does is reset my console and return me to the root menu of UnleashX.
Any suggestions?

All you need to do with the AutoBuilder5.1 Shadow C is go to filemanager and click on E/Config.xml
Look for this line

MS Dashboard

And change it to

MS Dashboard

Then MSDash will boot from the Ux menu
