Hello,
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.
I have softmodded 6 xbox's since July 2010. Now 3 of them have been restored to the MS Dashboard multiple times. I have used SID v5; have upgraded the dashboard to the latest version (i believe from HALO 2 update); not completely certain but I believe all xbox's are v1.6; have used Splinter Cell.
At first I thought that perhaps one of the kids pressed a combination of buttons and it was some kind of feature, I reinstalled the softmod with no issues.
Well, it happened again... This time I thought that one of the kids played a game that would update the dashboard to a newer one which I was not aware of... fair enough! I reinstalled the softmod, no problem.
Then it happened again... This time I was told that they noticed that it happened after the console was turned off for a couple of days... Ok, interesting; I reinstalled the softmod again and all was good.
A week later, of course, it happened again... This time I thought it was because I used XBMC's shortcuts to directly boot XBMC as the default dashboard; however, the same thing occurs if the default dashboard is UnleashX.
I'm very confused about this behavious as it does not happen to my XBoX, but then again when I had the other XBoX's this never happened to me either. I have tried to search for something specific but have not had much luck. Some say it has to do with system time reset (AID does not bypass this - so I've read).
2 XBoX's were donated to a PEDS unit and I have had to resoftmod 3 times and I'm now a bit embarrased to inconvenience them with this issue.
If anyone can point me to some literature to troubleshoot this peculiar behaviour, I'd really appreciate it.
Thank You.

From the sounds of things its not creating a shadow C drive and when a live enabled game is put in it auto updates to dash 5960 although that should only happen once since thats the newest dash version. Perhaps building the drives from scratch and modding with xboxhdm will remove this issue.
The other thing is go into your Unleashx system settings and make sure beside allow uninstall it says no. Also its quite possible someone deleted the files messing around with them. Evox may be a better choice if others are gonna be using it since it doesnt allow quite as much freedom as unleashx
