I tried using AID on my softmodded XBOX and couldn't use the One Click Softmod Install menu option. It says backup in E:\ not found. So was thinking I needed eeprom file there... (I already backed up my eeprom and HD to my PC and already have the xboxhdm 1.9 CD made but I wanted to try AID).
So I used the format option, then backup eeprom option. That's when it froze. Froze long time so I rebooted and guess what. My XBOX error code saying don't have valid HD.
Lucky it was my big HD and I already have xboxhdm 1.9 CD made... plus I still have my stock 8GB HD in cupboard.
So just wondering, has anyone tested whether AID works one-click installs on softmod?

Yes it does work. You probably didn't have a backup of the xbox dashboard in E:\ somehow _________________

Okay, just trying again. Here are the exact errors:
Softmod One-Click Installs
Single Boot No Virtual C
Setup with UnleashX Dash
Batch process failed.
The last item was: .
Action: Rename

Softmod One-Click Installs

I studied the config xml file that is in the AID ISO and figured out how it all works out. Softmod installs strictly requires eeprom & ms dashboard backup in E:\backup\ folder. Since I don't have those, we can use the AID Backup feature. Then use the File Manager to double-check we both have E:\backup\eeprom\ & E:\backup\MS\ folders.
Afterwards, I can then use One-Click Softmod Install. Very nice. Works good now.
Now, just wondering how to next time vanilla reformat/reinstall AID? I haven't yet tried the format feature... and since I now know that softmod AID heavily relies on E:\backup\eeprom\ & E:\backup\ms\ folders being present.

If you have a softmod you WILL NOT want to format a hard drive with AID. With a softmod the only way to do it is to use chimp or xboxhdm. AID formatting is only for chipped xboxes because they can run unsigned code without needing a softmod. _________________
