one more question to get this straight.
im going to be booting to a brand new hard drive and with aid 3.1. first i have to flash the bios, and every X3 chip comes with flashbios? is that correct, and that is on the back up rom memory? do i have to do anything special for the chip to boot to flashbios initially or will it just do it, and do i have to have my switches set to 1Mb prior to the boot, or after i boot to flashbios, then switch them to 1 Mb and load the bios?
thanks

I'm pretty sure thats brightness adjustment for the LCD (if you have one).
Flasbios is on every bank of a new X3, including the backup ROM. To flash correctly, you should have the switches set to on, on, off, off, and use a 1Mb bios image. After flashing u can switch them all off (but I recommend keeping flash protect on, just in case).
You shouldn't flash anything but flashbios on the backup rom. That way you can recover if you need.
Hope this helps _________________

Use WinRar to decompress the 1mb BIOS file.

I know but since someone else started to help might as well put in input in on it.
Seems like a lot of people are dragging up old topics lately _________________
