I just used the Chimp tut for the first time and followed the directions perfectly except for two parts that did not specify what to do. I step 11 it asked me what partition I wanted to close C, E, or F, I didn't know, so I picked E like I have allways used. That seemed to be fine. So then step 12 asked you to lock the drive. I'm pretty sure that I put my eeprom backup into the tmp folder. So I selected that for my key source and not the motherboard. Everything seemed to work great, but now after the XBOX bubble screen it goes to the black and green screen saying I need to send it to Microsoft.
I just killed my XBOX trying to make it better. I PM'd Wes, Final Cloud, and DJB, but have yet to get any responses. so here I am stuck with my main XBOX that has nothing now.
What have I done and how can I fix it? _________________

Ok I tried the old HDD again and it worked great. Is it possibe that there is something wrong with hte drive I'm trying to install? It makes it to the Bubble/Blob screen or whatever that thing is and then is just goes to the error menu saying I need to send it to Microsoft.
So the old drive works fine, but the new drive corrupts. Little help here please. _________________

Sound to me like your missing dash files.

Could be, but I did every step in the Chimp tut like it said. What could I possibly be missing and how can I fix it. I don't want to have a useless drive that I just purchased. I've been waiting for this opportunity for a long time. _________________

Yeah. I'm using a WD 1200JB and it has three settings. It has Single or Master, Slave, and Master with slave present. This is what is says word for word. I set it to slave and follow the guide. I plug in the ide cable when told and copy to the slave drive.
I'm a little confused about step 8. When I scan the Physical IDE Devices, what in the world am I lookinf to see. At the very bottom of that screen it said 99% the first time I tried to convert the HDDs. Now when I try again it says 45%. I have no clue as to what these numbers nor the writing on the screen means. I have tried contacting FInal Cloud, but no reponse after two days. _________________

Sorry about delay in response man, been caught up in life stuff. I've sent you a PM.
I only have a laptop available and that's too much trouble for me. Hopefully Final Cloud can figure something out for me. I mean he is the author of the tutorial. I might get a modhip, but I don't really need one. _________________
