I run a cold cathode ring under my clear jewel. It provides nice even colour and is brighter than LED's etc. Lights the whole box up. You can take a cathode ring from pc fans that have them on, so its nice and cheap too.

do you got a picture of the ring cuz that sounds interesting and does it fit perfectly around the jewel and if the ring looks good and quick to install then ill put this wire for like underglow lmao
but if you can get me a picture of it that would be nice
thanks FC _________________ xbox AID 4.10 80GB WD

It fits snug around the outside and as you can see from the little pic, the light distribution is completely even.
It looks even better in person! (so to speak).
Most fans with cathodes are 8cm anyway, which is the exact size to fit snuggly around the jewel hole.

UK sites selling mod bits are actually quire rare and hard to find, so I'm sure if you can find it in the UK, you'll be able to find it in the US.

Yeah, guess your paint thinner was a little stronger than you anticipated huh?! EL wire should work just as well, but it tends to come in lengths that may be a little long for your needs.
I suppose you could run it through the entire inside mind. Just remember that both the ring and the EL wire will generate a bit more heat, so cool areas are recommended.

P.S. As a dedicated Admin, I just had to have the Xbox-HQ skin from decalgirl.com
Looks even better in real life, really good. _________________

Some people go for the side mounted fans, others cut away some of the plastic at the back for better air flow.
But if you keep it somewhere exposed and in the open, overheating shouldn't be a problem really.
I must say though, I'm considering the side mounted fan option myself. Couple of black fans on each side, fan grill on each. Its just sorting out how to connect them all to the power supply thats the prob.

well i got a spare stock fan that i might mount internally on the side or the back if i get it on the side then ill make it were it blows air in and the fan in the back blows it out but i might just get side mounted fans lol and it sits infront on my HDTV plenty of air moving around the room my aunt wont let me turn my ceillin fan off lmao _________________ xbox AID 4.10 80GB WD
