The first time i actually modded my xbox was a long time ago. It used the same method as a softmod, but required additional steps. This was just installing linux straight to it. Thats it lol.... _________________ Hotswap Tutorial|FTP Tutorial|HyperX Flashing Tutorial

I got my first xbox only about a year ago. My friend knew a guy on xbox live that modded halo 2. He told us that we needed to mod our xbox and how to do it with softmods. I softmodded my xbox in feb. Halfway thru march i got a hyperx for it, then just went on from there. _________________

My first mod...man, it sucked! I ordered an XBIT chip and was armed with the instructions, pics, etc...you name it, I had it. The chip is a solderless one, screwed it into the board like I was suppose to...nothing. Tried again, and again, and again...must have been a hundred times. I was new, I didn't know any better...but the chip was DOA. Talk about frustrated. I screwed and unscrewed that chip so many times, I stripped the threads and couldn't tightened it down anymore. I got a replacement chip sent to me (shipped from Britain at the time) and pushed it down and held it there with my finger, bang...hello exucuter 2 logo. I was sooo happy!!! Now to secure the chip somehow. I ended up drilling straight through the case and using a small nut and bolt...hey it worked! I have had many xboxs in my life..bought and sold alot, but I still have that one and I will never sell it. It has a clear case now and some lights, nice big harddrive, etc.

Well I first got into xbox mods when I was doing a search on how to fix a dvd drive. That led me to www.llama.com and I started reading about softmods and action replay. After doing abit more searching, I found this site and the rest is history. _________________

Well, for me, I had an Xbox a long time ago and fancied modding it. Always liked the idea of the possibilities modding the box would give me.
In the end, I never did and bought a PS2 (those who know me know I'm a massive FF fan).
It wasn't until about a year ago that I got another Xbox, and almost straight away went into softmodding it. Been doing them ever since.
This site was one of the first I came across, actually recomended to me by a work colleague at the time.
Since then I've been modding and posting, hence the admin status.
And that, as they say, is that.
