I just had to tell this one to the HQ.
Was a slow day i was trying to play some C.O.D.3 when my boy big-D bangs on the door with what looked like an xbox but stank of rot here is whare the bit gets good.
He pulls out the xbox asking if i can mod it and said that his stepdad got it out of a dumpster at a J.M.U. graduation, it was right on top in plane sight and all.
Right off the bat i see all 4 feet are pulled off and that the stickers are still over the last 2 star bolts, thare was a ton off marks showing that someone was trying to pry it open but just got far enuff to trash and crush a real nice samsung disc drive (my fave kind) so now im thinking god whats inside?
I pull the last 2 bolts, open it up and thare on top the hdd is a dead rouch and not the kind you fire up in hard times .
I go on to gut the box to bare bones all parts rip out the shilding no need for that crap anyway and dump out 2 more dead rouchs clean it up and start putting it all back in the case.
Now the disc drive was D.O.A. so i toss it in a pile of parts in the corner and fit it with an old one i had setting around plug it up and bam wold you believe it worked hdd sounded like a nuke plant fireing up but it ran.
He gose on to ask if i wold mod it "at cost" for a 7 year old kid.
Im thinking 7 and an xbox modded dont go good together so i tell him how about i give you 25 bucks and he can put that tword a used one.
So now i got my next project the 3 rouch dumpster special.
Oh and the guy that trashed it had it soft modded so im not sure how he did not know about the 2 last bolts.
Its going to take me some time, cash flow is tight right now but when i get it done ill post the pics of my 25 doller xbox mod.

What gets me is how do you have the know how to softmod one but not how to open one without the use of a hammer?
I know you dont need to open it to softmod but come on look it up google it!

Im thinking about the x2 ce lite with solderless pin connect any one here use the solderless befor and if so how good is it
Oh and xUnReAlx odd hell no it seems lazy to me but what can you do?
My guess mom and dad was getting him a 360 for his hummer so why try right.

as long as the trash-box isn't a 1.6, that solderless adapter will work. _________________

Well it looks identical to the solderless adapter the sell with the xenium ice and xecuter. I have used those and have had no issues with electrical contact since I installed it 2 yrs ago. _________________

maybe he had someone softmod it for him and then decided he could hard mod himself????? who knows? lol well u know what they say...one mans trash is another mans gold so i say enjoy the roach box! _________________
