hi i'm having a few dramas with a hdd that i'm trying to install it is an 80gig western digital which i have previously had installed into my xbox some time ago but i had removed it to use in a pc. now i want to use it again as my xbox harddrive i'm having problems with my AID disc loading up, it will load up to the menu screen for about 3 seconds then then flashes to a blank screen and does this in continous loop. the question i have is, is my hard drive stuffed? (my pc still recognises it). my disc isn't the problem as it will load up with a stock harddrive installed. i'm using AID 3.0 and have also tryed AID 4.0 with the same results my xbox is a v10. and is chipped with an xecuter 2.6ce if that helps. any help is appreciated thanks in advance.

You are leaving the AID disc in long enough to boot aren't you? It takes about 30 - 40 secs to read the AID disc and bring up the menu.
yeah i let it load up long enough.
it does load up to the menu but only for a few seconds then it and goes to a black screen then after a few minutes the menu flashes up on the screen again and does this continuously, but with the stock hardrive i have it works perfectly and has work perfectly for this harddrive in the past. any suggestions ?

Does the HDD make any noise, like clunking or ticking, or sound like its skipping as it tries to read? Could be the HDD on the way out.
no its not making any noises and my pc recognises it still. i have done some searches of these forums and all that i could come up with that maybe my harddrive is locked and not allowing the AID disc to load up does this make any sense or am i going in the wrong direction?

That was probably the best choice. Plus you'll get some extra space too. If you need anything else, just shout man.
