I while ago I bought a liquid cooler, to use for my xbox, but way to much modding was involved... but anyway, also i have a computer that needs a motherboard... So after i get out of basic, im going to put a motherboard in the comp, and upgraded to a DVD burner... and also install my liquid cooler.. now the liquid cooler is a Big Water 735, it says its compatible with AMD all K8 Series, Intel LGA775, and Intel BTX platform. I mainly want the computer for surfing the net, burning dvds-xbox games, and watching movies... not much gaming.. maybe a little.. but which one do you guys suggest??

Personaly I prefer AMD over Intel. You save a ton of money by going with the AMD over a similar performing Intel.

I've been building PC's for years, now have my own company that does it. Its the same with anything really, once you do it and do it enough, it becomes second nature.

I agree with bongripz, AMD over INTEL any day of the week and for motherboards, you can never go wrong with an Asus. Built with upgradability, overclocking and cost effectiveness in mind. Never had a prob with a single one of them.

If you're going for AMD, go for the AMD AM2 Athlon 64 (Socket 940) range. That'll set you up nicely.

Need anything else, just ask.

You can usually by motherboards and processors in bundles. That way you dont have to worry about matching them up. Then all you need is the right kind of RAM. When i built my first computer about 5 years ago I went to this computer show. I got a mother board processor bundle for like 120 bucks. AMD 1800 (pretty fast back then). It had an integrated sound card so all I need was a video card (nvidea gforce2), ram (ddr 256 or 512 i forget), a network card, and a case. in total I think i payed like 450. It wasn't top shelf when i bought it but it was damn near close. I think you can get something comparible by today's standards for realativly the same price.

If it makes you feel better. The first computer I built blew up. But the second one cost around $1000, but she is beautiful!!!

Do you think if I got a brand different than what it says it wouldn't fit? I'm looking at AMD's ATHLON series, also im looking at Asus Boards.
