Just finished applying a DecalGirl skin and and some lights in the xbox but had some problems installing the controller port lights.
Was wondering if anyone has a more simple way of making the hole in the back of the control port? When I tried to drill it, the bit would catch the metal and just rip it to shreads! Neadless to say, I've had to order a couple sets of controller ports!
(Not as nice as realmccloys' xbox but not too bad for a first timer) _________________ XBox360 Premium

I don't do any drilling mate! I have a tutorial that I'll put together for you. Somehow I'll arrange the pics too. I got an awesome tutorial from the xboxrepairguide.com. You have to pay 9.99 for the guide, but it got me on my way nicely.
Anyway, I'll see what I can dig up.

Hi Guys,
I bought my XBOX Orange Ports (see my avatar <<-----) from customxbox.net and they had lights already in them.. All i had to do was remove my existing JoyPad Ports from the front of my xbox and replace the whole unit with the new ones.. Took about 2 minutes flat..
Keep at it boys.. Its good to have a unique xbox of your very own.

Just ordered the repair guide and it's definatly cool. I was only shipped one light for each controller port, where the manuel shows 4 lights per controller port! Did I get ripped off? I orderd my lights from xpsmods.com. (Not hearing good thing about this place)
Anyway, my new ports should be ariving soon and I'll let you know how it goes.

I knew you would like that guide!! It is indeed awesome. It really helped me feel more comfortable with some case mods.
I am in the process of testing out what two LED's look like versus four. I just figure if I can go without notching the lower part of each port and wiring the two extra LED's then that would just save so much time.
I am thinking one LED on each side would look good. Granted, four would be wicked bright..HA.

Dude, two LED's is ample...more than ample. I just got done wiring up two LED's in each controller port and man, it's bright as hell!
Also, it seems the owners of customxbox.net launched a new site called
I bought a crap load today cuz the prices were better than my other vendor. I would imagine that the prices will be going up shortly so get'em while their bright and hot!!
