i paid someone to install the modchip a long time ago
my xbox has been modded for awhile now, like 2 years and it has been fine. never hooked up to xbox live or anything. well anyway, i was playing GTA SA and then shut the system down like always. saved game, and turned of the xbox. when i turned it back on the normal xbox opening/logo goes on then i get a screen that has the word evolution x spinning in the center and the only opitions i have are:
MS dashboard: all that does is bring up a green Evolution X logo
Reboot: it reboots
power off: powers off
settings: i can change the following settings NETWORk: almost everything, HARDDISk: nothing, BIOS: nothing, FTP: all, TELNET: all, RDTOOLS: all, CLOCK: all, VIDEO: game region, MISC: alot but not all
Look like some of the dashboard file were rewritten. If you have an AID disc you can reinstall a dashboard. Everything else should be fine. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

Click on the link at the top of the page. You'll need WinRAR to uncompress the files and DVD decrypter to burn the iso to a cd-rw. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

ok so it seems that is harder than i thought. can i please get a walkthrough of the complete process. which files, where to download, can i just burn it to a DVD disc, once i put the disc into the xbox can i use the xbox controller to install the disc? yes i have never done anything like this. i had a friend of a friend mod my xbox 2 years ago

Download this and copy and overwrite the old evox.ini file with the one you downloaded. Or, just reinstall the whole dash. _________________

ok so i burned the whole file to a disc, put in the xbox the center green light flashed for a bit and when to the same screen with msdashboard. then i burned a 2nd disc with the files individually listed on the disc vs a single folder, still nothing. what am i doing wrong.
i am a totaly new with this so bare with me please

xbox will only read iso format...Make an iso with Caxtion 4, and burn the iso with dvd decrypter. Unless you already have the burning and creating software, get these 2. They will come in handy.

so i downloaded a dvd decrypter and i downloaded craxtion. here is my prob. when i try to run craxtion i get this error message
the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135) click on OK to terminate the application.
i tried to download craxtion from different sites and mirrors and all gave me the same error message

ok so i got it working, thanks a bunch for all the help so far. so i have nero dvd burning software. i used craxtion to make an iso from the evolutionx build 3935 and then used nero to burn it to a dvd. i put it in the xbox and still nothing. i am about to use craxtion to make an iso of evox.ini file and burn just that file and put the dvd into the xbox. is this correct. or what am i doing wrong
