Your xbox starting normally because it doesnt have another dashboard to boot off. So all xbox is good for now is reading burnt dvds. If You want a evox or something else then get xboxhqs autoinstaller itll install everything you to get started.

I tried burning slayers auto onto a cd-rw and it wouldn't work. I don't have a dvd burner, so that's a problem.

I used Imation CD-RW when i burned auto install for slayers using my thomson drive on the xbox, however be warned, it takes much longer using a cd-rw than a DVD-R. I installed it with cdrw and it took 2 hours, only 15 minutes with a DVD-R. The brands my Thomson can read so far are maxell and dynes DVD-R. I recommend the DYnex mainly because I found them at Best Buy for $24.99 for a spindle of 25 4x DVD-r's, and they actually work.

Two hours for the evox slayers auto-install from a cdrw.
less than 10 minutes for the evox slayers auto-install from dvd-r.
it doesn't matter what bios or dashboard you install, it just takes a buttload longer to use a cdrw, especially if you have a thomson dvd drive.

Until I do get the DVD-R burned, to make sure I flashed my Xbit correctly and installed it corretly would mean that it has to light up green.

I'm not for sure on this. I have a Xecuter 2.3 Lite Plus chip, and I'm not for sure what the differences are.

hi IMB,
when i used to have my old xbox with the THOMPSON drive i used a brand named 'ARITA'.. They were a cheap brand from Harvey Norman In Australia..
They were the only ones i ever found that worked for my drive..
Thats why i got rid of my old xbox and made sure i got a samsung XBOX DVD DRIVE..!
But youll be right.. Just burn at 2x speed as well just to make sure..

i would just convert slayers iso into a xiso and burn it onto the cd right?
The Arita cd would also be a problem, I don't live in Australia and Comp USA dosn't have it. What other media have been succesfully used on Thomson drive? Would anyone sell me a DVD-R birning of it as well.

just out of curiosity can you hook your xbox to your pc?
and All you need to do is create and xiso burn - the slower the better
and the xbox should boot off it. _________________ Xbox v1.2
